POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Excellence has a way of showing up everywhere. 🏆

Last year, our Founder & COO, Patrick McCormack and his partner Chris Wise #chaoswise won HYROX in the regular division. This YEAR they stepped up to the Pro division — heavier weights, a bigger challenge — and earned their place on the podium once again!

That’s what we believe in at DFYR: keep raising the bar.

Congratulations gentlemen ….. HYROX World Championships next?!
Always Smashing. 💥

Twas the night before DefyFit, and all through the floor,
The coaches were pacing, prepping for war.
With clipboards and whiteboards all set up just right,
But deep down they knew… they’d be in the fight.

The members were sleeping, unaware of the test,
While coaches lay restless, no chance for good rest.
They’ve preached perfect form, they’ve counted each rep,
Now it’s their turn to lead from the front of the step.

A hundred cal row to open the show,
“No pacing,” they said… now they’ll feel that blow.
Then dumbbell burpees, twenty five strong,
The kind they’ve demoed all year long.

A hundred cal bike, they’ve coached it with ease,
“Nice steady effort”… now begging for breeze.
Fifty step overs, “smooth is the key,”
But legs start to burn at rep twenty three.

The SkiErg is next, a hundred to pull,
“Use your hips more”… lungs already full.
Seventy five plates from ground to the sky,
“Full extension at top”… now questioning why.

Kettlebell lunges, a hundred to grind,
“Stay tall through your core”… echoing in mind.
Then sandbag carry, eight hundred to go,
“No dropping the bag”… they told you so.

And just when it’s time to empty the tank,
An 800m run… no one to thank.
No cheering you on, no class to command,
Just you and the workout you carefully planned.

So coaches step up, it’s your turn to show,
That you live every word your members will know.
You don’t just instruct, you bleed what you teach,
Tomorrow’s the day that standard you reach.

So tighten those laces, get ready to play,
You set the tone for what’s coming their way.
Lead from the front, earn every right,
DefyFit is calling… now go win the fight.

On Friday. Coaches from Defy rowed & skied anywhere from a 5km all the way up to a marathon distance in order to raise funds for @amicicharity

The Defy members donated in order to give their coaches some love and collectively we raised $5400 which has been donated and will help send kids to camp this summer.

Thanks to our legendary community for their contributions!

Congrats to @coach_xrod, @charlie_russell & @chaoswise who rowed their “first” marathon!

Wilderness Traverse 2025 // 27 hours 03 minutes

Heatwave conditions hit hard this year, with steep climbs, thick bushwhacking, and four full swims in shoes and packs just to get through the first trek. Navigation on foot was solid which was a win this year!

The 9-hour night paddle brought eerie stillness, pitch-black water, and unmarked portages - but somehow we threaded through it (still not sure how). Def some map magic from the Chief Navigator 🗺️ 🧭 @darrent_training

Mountain biking brought extremes - either fast & flowy or steep & rocky. We rolled well through most of it, until we thought we were done… only to hit 7 km of knee-deep mud on the final stretch. Temps soared again in the 25th hour, and every step felt impossible. That’s when grit took over. No chatter, just heads down, push through.

We finished with plenty of fight left in us 🔥.

Wilderness Traverse never disappoints 🙏 @wildernesstraverse And there’s no go without my incredible team mates. I’d be still out there trying to find my way…

Get to know the team. Here’s our General Manager @chaoswise

Q: What’s your go-to hype song before a workout?
“Ante Up” by M.O.P. — guaranteed to get the energy up.

Q: If you could only do one workout for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Murph. It hits everything—upper body, lower body, and gives you a serious swole pump.

Q: What’s one fitness myth you wish people would stop believing?
That you need to “get in shape” before joining a gym. Just come in. No matter where you’re starting, we’ve got you.

Q: What’s your favorite part about coaching at Defy?
Seeing that look on someone’s face when they hit a PR or do something they didn’t think was possible. That moment is everything.

Just a few days until we get back in the woods for the @wildernesstraverse adventure race!

Last year was a lot of fun even though we faced some adversity throughout the 30 hours of racing…

But that is what the fun is all about in these races. It’s impossible that everything will go to plan over a 30 hour race - the plan is actually to deal with the setbacks quickly!

This year will throw all sorts of challenges I’m sure and as in usual fashion, our preparation has been minimal to say the least.

Looking forward to sharing the experience with this team @doctormom_mrst @chaoswise @patrickmccormackfar

Back in the bush for 4 days in less than 1 week.

Different trail, similar plan.
Back to the thing I called the hardest thing I’d ever done less than halfway through it.

I have a better idea what to expect. I’m fitter. I’m more prepped. But I am still ready for brutal.

I hadn’t dug out this footage from last year.
Watch my physical, mental, and emotional state just devolve in 4 short days. I realized by day 2 this was a get through it thing and wasn’t even thinking about taking video and telling the stories, though I’m glad I took a few.
