What a weekend! My heart is incredibly full. 💚🌱

Thank you to everyone who came out, even through the rain, to celebrate the first anniversary of Shauné’s Kitchen Plant-Based Nutrition & Culinary Center.

One year ago, I opened the doors to this space with a vision: to create a place where people could gather around the table, experience just how delicious plant-based food can be, learn practical ways to take better care of themselves, and feel supported in creating healthier lives.

This weekend felt like such a beautiful reflection of that vision.

Saturday, was Taste & Celebrate with our plant-powered ramen bar, refreshing sips, music, conversation and community.

Then Sunday, we gathered around the table again for Simply Plant-Powered with Chef Char. It was an afternoon filled with cooking, learning, laughter, and more delicious plant-based goodness.

A very special thank you to Chef Char Nolan, who traveled despite the nor’easter to celebrate with us. She brought not only her culinary talent and knowledge to the Kitchen, but her warmth, generosity, wonderful stories and passion for showing people just how approachable and delicious plant-powered eating can be. I’m so grateful she said YES to being part of this milestone weekend. 💚

As I looked around Shauné’s Kitchen and saw people eating, laughing, learning and connecting, I was reminded that this space has never been just about food.

It’s about what can happen around the table.

Thank you for showing up. Thank you for supporting this dream. Thank you for telling your friends, attending classes, purchasing tickets, sharing posts, encouraging me and continuing to come back.

Most of all, thank you for being part of the first chapter of Shauné’s Kitchen.

Here’s to Year Two. 🌱💚✨

Fresh air and some delicious and nourishing food. This evolved into a wonderful cold pasta salad with whole wheat spaghetti, tofu cilantro crema, black olives, roasted red peppers, zucchini, artichoke hearts and crumbled tofu feta. Perfect for some al fresco dining.

I’ve been chasing techniques to maintain the beautiful purple color of chinese eggplant without flash frying with oil. I’m excited to have gotten this result.

Slice the eggplant into a vinegar-water-salt bath. Then, microwave to cook quickly. It’s now ready to toss into the sauce and stirfry!
