🚅🖼️Have you checked out the Kent Des Moines light rail station directly across from Highline College recently?

There’s a new permanent art installation on the north side of the station’s main entrance called Texture of the Sound, created for people who experience art through touch. Seattle artists Charan Sachar and Sarah Kavage collaborated with Sound Transit and Highline College, including staff members Jenni Sandler and Raman Kaur, along with three students who are blind or have low vision. It’s the first tactile artwork Sound Transit's Art program has developed.

Special thanks to Sound Transit and Highline's Program Manager for Accessible Technology, Michael Hanscom for providing some of these photos.

Read the full story at the link in our bio. Split image. Top features a group of Seattle artists with their mural. The mural shows two people sitting on a picnic blanket near trees. They're looking toward mountains and body of water.

I’m on a new experience spinning journey today. 1st day of Tour de Fleece (TDF) is underway. Silk spinning- a whole new dynamic. #silkspinning #creativefibrenz

We are pleased to announce that after lots of gentle encouragement… well, maybe some of us on the team were not so gentle, Becca will be providing fiber again! Right now, we are starting with some 1 oz silk samples, but with some more time, we hope to get Becca dyeing again. She’s already planning on make some batts in the near future. It’s been a long time coming!

Pivot to quick knit project for monkeyshine hunting season when someone’s gloves don’t fit an injured hand. (Which also reminded me to find my own and pull them out!)

LOOK at this lovely, big mug I bought for myself for Valentine’s Day today at the @redalderfiberarts market! This is a 20oz mug made by the tremendously talented @charansachar, who is also teaching this weekend.

Had a great time today, beautiful hug from Jess from @skagitwoolenworks, and it was just so nice to see all the pretty things! Many thanks to my dear friend Marianne who served as chauffeur and wheelchair navigator!

Contrary to popular opinion, the new washer and dryer were *not* my Valentine’s Day present; Joe got me a lovely box of chocolates, as is our tradition. I got him a year’s subscription to what’s rated the best horror movie streaming service. Because nothing says “I love you” like screaming in 5.1 Dolby surround sound. 😉(He loves horror movies and is actually excited about it!)
