One shared goal: healthy moms and babies. 💜 At the Heartland Summit, I got to announce Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies America’s very first state investments: $10 million each for Arkansas and Kentucky! 🎉 Here’s what it will do: 🤱 More midwives, doulas and home visits for rural moms 📊 Better data, so we know what’s working 🏡 Real support in the year after baby arrives. (postpartum is no joke!) We don’t need a breakthrough to take better care of moms. We know what works, and now we’re bringing it to more communities. Thank you, Governor Sanders and Governor Beshear, for showing what leadership for families looks like. And to every mom, midwife, nurse and neighbor who shows up for families: this one’s for you. 🌱 Proud that Charles Johnson of @4kira4moms and Erin Erinberg of @ChambersofMothers were onsite with us! In the same spirit that brings thousands of changemakers to D.C. for the 55th anniversary of the @cbcfinc’s Annual Legislative Conference (ALC), we joined @blkwomenshealth, @mamatotovillage and @pablackmaternalhealth to host a reception designed to uplift Black women’s health, strengthen partnerships and drive collective action.    Members of Congress, state legislators, and leaders from more than 85 national and community organizations showed up for Black women’s health.
