I got a call from @frzy and I got a bit emotional. Umm.

I think since originally being with @tierrawhack and team when she got nominated for a Grammy. I just been working really hard. Now she on a historic run, about to bring it home for us.

Just helping, developing, investing, living, breathing, and sometimes holding my breath in music.

It’s been 20 years. Doing this. I’m appreciative of this opportunity. Appreciative of the @grammys , appreciative of @ramon

I’m appreciative of @frzy pouring into me. Im appreciative of @frominezwithlove pouring into me. You know when you are the water or lake for everyone else’s cup. People come and go as they please.

And someone comes past and ask, hey do u need help ? It hits different. Like u want to help me ? Why ? I don’t have anything to give.

You know shoutout to the team that got in @taylorgang or die. @wgd6788 and @feddthegod . Pittsburgh is getting stronger.

I’m going to just continue to try, and care, and try again, and care even more.

And a special thanks to my wife @noneed_just_me who many times told me I had value when I felt like nothing.

Here to the city of Pittsburgh. #IAmTheAcademy

One night sent two men in completely different directions.

I was shot by a police officer. That single moment reshaped my life, his life, and the lives of so many people we will never meet.

Years ago, I did the hardest thing I have ever done. I sat down with him. The man who shot me. No cameras. No headlines. No script. Just two men, face to face, telling the truth.

The Weight of Forgiveness is the play I wrote about that conversation. It is based on the real night we met and the real conversation we had.

It refuses easy answers. It asks what happens when the man cast as the hero and the man cast as the villain both decide to step out of their roles and simply be human.

There was an extreme weight to writing this, and there is a weight to forgiveness.

Pittsburgh

VIP early entry 6:00 PM. Curtain 7:00 PM.

General Admission $100. VIP $150.

This is a fundraiser. Every dollar pays our creatives a fair wage and fuels the work of The Hear Foundation.

That includes the Community Safety Innovation Fund, which puts real money directly into the hands of grassroots leaders building safer neighborhoods, and Bridging the Badge, our public safety career pipeline for the next generation of students.

This is bigger than a play. This is how we build trust between police and community, one honest conversation at a time.

It will sell out. Get your tickets now. Link in bio.

There are moments that change a life forever.

For me, that moment was the unexpected and unimaginable loss of my son Ahmir 💔🥺

Grief does NOT leave you. EVER. If anyone tells you differently, it’s a lie.

Grief becomes a part of you.
Grief reshapes how you see the world, how you prepare to move through it, and what you are willing to sacrifice to stand up for who you truly love.

My love as a mother to my Bubs is what pushed me forward the last five years. It was truly a struggle - one that I didn’t know if I was going to survive. But I chose not to let my grief consume me. Instead, I chose to let my grief strengthen and empower me.

That is why I am honored not only to be recognized, but to continue the work that I — alongside The Hear Foundation — remain committed to: supporting families who find themselves navigating the justice system on behalf of their loved ones.

No family should have to walk that road alone.

🙌🏽 I am truly HONORED to be part of LOUDER. I am honored to be selected a 2026 Community Champion.

On February 21st, 2026, we gather not just for an event, on the eve of the anniversary of my son leaving this earth — but also for a commitment to do better for one another — as a Community.

After everything I have been through in my journey of grief, I am excited about this next chapter. And I look forward to sharing it with you all as well 🫶🏽💜🤞🏽
