A rare serious and sentimental post. Last week, we reached the first full month of Gone Laughing at HiBall. We genuinely could not have asked for a better start to the show. A near full venue every week with top performances from every comic. It has quickly become a space quite special to us. The audience support has been immense, there are no shows without an audience and somehow we’ve lucked into a great audience. Thank you to everyone who’s come through! Charné and Anthony of @hiballcocktailbar have provided unbelievable support allowing us to experiment and have fun doing something we love. Thank you to all the comics who have pulled through performed and told others about our show! A few of you aren’t in photos, that’s Tyrone’s fault he forgot to take photos for at least one of the shows. Huge thank you to @thereareonlyexits for always making us look dope! To many more shows! We’ll see you every Wednesday!

What a night! 🍸🧠 A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the first Cape Town Cocktail Week Trivia Night at Cause Effect. There were plenty of laughs, a little friendly rivalry and some impressive cocktail knowledge. Congratulations to our winning teams: The Cookie Monsters, Diffords (Not The Guide) and The Swamp Shakers! 🏆 And another huge thank you to our sponsors – Abstinence Spirits, Arbikie Highland Rye, Patrón Tequila and Bacardí Rum – for helping us make the evening possible. Let’s do it again soon! 🥂 📸 @waldo_levendal #CapeTownCocktailWeek #CTCW #CocktailTrivia #CapeTownEvents #CocktailCulture

Up next on our Mack Brands cocktail series: The Finvara Highball 🥃 This week we have @charnehey , who made a highball with Finvara Irish Whiskey. Made with an apple and fig cordial to really bring out the notes of caramel from the whiskey. It’s slightly sweet, slightly floral and well balanced. Cheers! @kingfinvara

Jy sal altyd deur my leef !!! Ek het jou so baie lief my bra.❤️ “Tot ons weer saam dans…” In loving memory of Brandon Venter. Op alle platvorms beskikbaar. Link in my bio.

The last Thursday of July looked a little something like this… 👀 Good food. Good music. Great people. A little chaos. Exactly how we like it! And we’re doing it all over again next Thursday, 27 August. This time: a guest bartender taking over with a special food pairing menu. @hopedistillery x @thy_taipei x @this.is.harry.h x @mariahcurry.co 🎧 A couple of DJs carrying us through the night #Actcasual 🍸 and, obviously, plenty of highballs! Consider this your SAVE THE DATE. More details dropping soon, for now, just make sure next Thursday is free. See you at the bar! 😁 #Actcasual #Cocktailbar #Shortmarketstreet #Capetown

Great cocktails are created with skill. Great careers are built with passion. This Women's Month, and in celebration of International Youth Day, we're proud to shine a light on @charnehey, Inverroche Bartender of the Year 2025. Her journey is a reminder that the future of hospitality is being shaped by talented young people who are bringing fresh ideas, dedication and exceptional craftsmanship to every serve. As a woman-founded brand, championing women who are making their mark has always been part of who we are. Supporting talent like Charne isn't just about celebrating one achievement, it's about recognising the people who will continue to shape our industry for years to come. #Inverroche #InverrocheByNature #WomensMonth

We put Inzalo Batch One in front of some of the best bartenders in the country and just listened. Mineral notes. Dark chocolate. Fresh orange. Salinity. A spirit that kept revealing something new every single time something touched it. Smooth. Versatile. A New Class of Agave Spirit, and one of the most exciting liquids to hit the bar in a while. We didn't say it. They did. #Inzalo #BatchOne #AgaveSpirit #NewClass #DescendantAgave #Bartender #Versatility #CocktailCulture
