Today, on what would have been Darius’ 38th birthday, we take a moment to honor DJ’s life and legacy.

This year, we invite friends and family to celebrate Ruler Day by sharing your favorite memories, wearing your Ruler merch, or posting photos that remind you of DJ.

One year as President of the Phi Lambda Chapter... and what a ride it’s been. Every challenge, every lesson, every win has been worth it. I wouldn’t change a thing.

A few things this year reminded me:

• God put you here for a reason. Never doubt that.
• Obstacles will come, especially when you’re moving things forward. Stay proactive.
• Your impact is measured by the brothers you inspire to believe in the vision.
• Don’t get caught up chasing pictures. The real work happens when the cameras aren’t around.
• Leadership isn’t about being everyone’s favorite. It’s about doing the job.
• Never allow someone else’s limitations to become your own.
• Continue being an example of the next generation of leadership.

There’s something special about showing your child where food comes from.

Not because he’ll remember every vegetable we picked, but because I hope he’ll remember how it felt spending time together. The garden gives us vegetables. The moments give us something even better.

A year ago, I thought fitness was about finding the perfect workout.

Turns out, it was about finding the right people.

Some of these guys started as random runners at local events.

Now we’ve shared training runs, races, HYROX competitions, finish lines, PRs, setbacks, and a lot of miles.

The biggest thing I’ve learned:

Motivation comes and goes.

Community sticks around.

If you’re trying to get healthier, faster, stronger, or simply more consistent, find your people.

Everything gets easier when you stop doing it alone.

Spent the afternoon teaching my boys something that actually matters, how to grow their own food.

Just dirt, patience, and a few pepper plants. Hopefully these simple moments turn into lessons they’ll carry forever.
