Welcome @chbloves 💕 this FREE poetry writing workshop is open for registration!
An embodied poetry workshop exploring migration through memory, identity, belonging, and transformation using somatic practice.
re-membering the way: an embodied exploration of migration through the poetry of our lived experience.

what does it mean to migrate?
to leave one place and enter another. to cross a threshold. to carry what has shaped us while becoming someone or something new.
in this embodied poetry workshop, we will explore migration not only as movement across land, but as movement through memory, identity, longing, belonging, and transformation. through somatic practice, contemplation, community, and writing, we will listen for the stories held in the body—we will follow the threads that help us journey back to the places we have come from, and lead us forward into where we long to go.
we will notice what we have carried, what we want to put down, and the ways we have changed. we will acknowledge and make space for the selves still asking to be born.
together, we will explore poetry as a living practice: a way of listening beneath language, following what the body knows, and giving form to what is moving within us.
no previous writing or movement experience is necessary. come as you are, come curious. this is an invitation to re-member our inner and outer migration as the sacred movement of becoming.

🌟POETRY EVENT!🌟

Get ready for poet @chbloves's big-hearted one-wxman show, "I Want You To Want Me" -- part performance, part community gathering -- a revolution of realness! Part of cat h. bradley's "The Little Rooms Tour."

Where: @espycafe, 404 W Huron St, A2

When: Friday, August 14th @ 7-8:30 (doors at 6:30)

Tickets available on Eventbrite and in the flyer's QR code for $16.78. Some discounted tickets also available at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/i-want-you-to-want-me-a-spoken-word-experience-tickets-1994305639854

About the show:
'I want you to want me’ is a powerful, one of its kind, lyrical spoken word experience that weaves together 8 soul-fueled poems with vulnerable and engaging personal interludes. through undeniably brave and entertaining storytelling, bradley heals and evolves on the stage—not just by revealing the impact of her traumas and intergenerational wounds, but by sharing her journey to alchemizing them—conjuring magic, miracle, and JOY through her creative/spiritual practice. our challenges, our pain, our stories are our wisdom and our wealth—and they are offering us a path not to but of— belonging, freedom, and unconditional love.

Once the performance (which is about 90 minutes) wraps up, Espy Cafe invites you to LOITER! Linger with old and new friends in a casual community gathering with N/A drinks, sweet treats, + the perfect playlist curated by the poet herself. It's the perfect chance to feel into the performance, connect with others, or just chill in a beautiful space on a gorgeous summer night.

Book Love Bar had the honor of showcasing the Cat H. Bradley Poetry Event of 2026, I Want You To Want Me. This sold-out show was transformative, haunting, uplifting, and achingly beautiful. Though the room was full, Cat's words felt like you were the sole person in the room and all this was meant for you. It felt like a wave of collective community breathe all releasing at once. Bringing us back to each other. I Want You To Want Me is a battle cry to love yourself shamelessly and in doing so, creating and healing those around you who need us at our fullest, but lift each other when we are unable. To say I loved this show is too small and simple a thing to say. I, as a woman, a poet, a community event organizer, was transported. And I am still in awe. This is a show of generosity, honesty, realignment, and big, big love.

tl;dr: volunteers needed again, and it really is as delightful as these pictures make it look!

I’m going to be real with you all. Before last month’s Healing Feast, I came close to canceling the whole thing because I was going through such a hard time and felt I did not have what it takes (it does take a whole lot to pull one of these off). But when I asked for help, some key people stepped in and shouldered the load with me in ways beyond what I imagined possible. I felt so held and supported throughout the weekend of the event. I worked hard as always, and I was able to enjoy the process more than ever before. These volunteers stepped in because they love and believe in The Healing Feast, because they feel at home in this community, and because we have a hell of a good time together.

Life continues to be unusually challenging. I continue to trust in the power of community and the loving presence weaving us together. I am once again looking for volunteers for The Healing Feast - Flowing with the Divine Non-Binary on Saturday 7/18. I have kitchen shifts to fill in Laingsburg on both Friday (17th) and Saturday (18th), and need a crew of set-up helpers starting in the early afternoon on Saturday. Similarly to last month, some of my key players are not able to step in this month. Maybe if you’re reading this, you’re one of the new key players that can rise up and help me weave healing connections. I invite you to prove the scared voices in my head wrong. Let’s make something beautiful together.

Love,
Sari

Trying so hard to summon the summer with this little photo of bubbles and joy. And Cat of course. Her smile is literally contagious. Fingers and photos crossed for springtime to officially arrive soon. I really need the joy and the ease and the peace back in my life.
