Last week, we welcomed Michelin-starred chef @chef.stuart.ralston of @lylaedinburgh into the IGNI kitchen for the final dinner of our At The Pass series for 2026. Cooking alongside @cheftheoclench, the two chefs brought their coastal cooking together in an exclusive multi-course tasting menu, for one night only.
The series began in July with Jean Delport of Restaurant Interlude, followed by Endo Kazutoshi in September, with more collaborations to come in 2027.

Vivien

Tucked beneath the streets of Edinburgh—and hidden below Ralston’s new restaurant, Vinette—lies Vivien, an intimate cocktail bar inspired by the rebellious and inquisitive spirit of poet Renée Vivien.

Embodying her aesthetic principles of decadence and the creative independence of Paris’ Belle Époque, the design fully embraces its basement setting. Low lighting, candlelit tables, and rich, eclectic details create a space that feels quietly unconventional, moody, and escapist.
It’s elegant without feeling formal, and sophisticated without taking itself too seriously—a place designed to settle in, whether for a quick drink or an entire evening.

Headed up by Rebekah George, the bar programme promises an exceptional lineup of classic cocktails alongside inventive signature serves, complemented by wine and small bites.
A space rich in atmosphere, character, and just a little bit of mischief.

A lovely moment for LYLA, awarded a coveted MICHELIN Key. 🗝️
This is a particularly special one for us at Scarinish.
We had the pleasure of working alongside Stuart Ralston, Jade Johnston and the team to create the interiors for LYLA — a project we loved from the very beginning.
Working within such a beautiful old Edinburgh townhouse, the aim was always to create something that felt calm, warm and understated, while letting the original character of the building come through.
To now see LYLA recognised in this way is a fantastic achievement for everyone involved.
Huge congratulations to Stuart, Jade and the whole LYLA team. It’s been a real pleasure to be part of LYLA’s journey. .

TRES VEG IS BACK !
Twenty years ago, Chef Rob and Chef Stuart Ralston were young cooks in New York, working together at the two-Michelin-starred Gordon Ramsay at The London. As luck would have it, they were also roommates, sharing a small apartment and experiencing New York together at the beginning of their careers. Those years were formative, both in and out of the kitchen, and a lasting friendship was born.
Now, two decades later, they’re finally back in the kitchen together.
Stuart is coming to Washington from Edinburgh’s acclaimed LYLA, his intimate, seafood-focused restaurant in a beautifully restored Georgian townhouse overlooking the Firth of Forth. LYLA earned its first @michelinguide Star in 2025 and was named Best Restaurant in Scotland by the National Restaurant Awards. Its tasting menu celebrates exceptional Scottish produce, sustainable fish/shellfish, and the seasons.
For two special nights at Oyster Oyster, Scotland meets DC as Rob and Stuart reunite to cook together for the first time since their New York days.
Two former roommates. Two chefs. Two decades of friendship. Two unforgettable nights.

It was such a pleasure to welcome @chef.stuart.ralston and the @lylaedinburgh team to @frogbyah for our second 4 Hands Dinner of the series. I have so much respect for what Stuart and his team are doing up in my homeland, so getting to cook together and share the evening with everyone who joined us was a real privilege.

Thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a special night ❤️
