Black as Vanilla? Whew. Chef CJ did NOT come to play. This was food, history, and storytelling braided together so beautifully it felt like a whole revival for the soul.

Hosted by our very own co-host Lynzee Mychael, with vibes curated by Nic Harmony, and hosted at The Kitchen this once-in-a-lifetime experience took us on a journey we didn’t even know we needed — but baby, we’re grateful we got it.

And rumor has it… a tour might be brewing for next year. 👀 Stay tuned.
Story dropping soon.

Hit that subscribe on our YouTube so you don’t miss a thing — trust, you’ll want to be tapped in. 🎥✨

Bowman Clan Day of Thanks and Giving 2024 Detroit

My heart and soul are still overflowing with joy and gratitude.

Thanks and Giving are my jam year round!

But being surrounded by my Bowman Clan, good food and drinks, shit talking, dancing, vibey tunes, that magical brooklyn essence, and deep belly laughter is good medicine for my soul. 🖤🙌🏽🥰

As many of you have already heard & been asking me about, @whateverfestdetroit this year is cancelled.
To be as clear as possible: this is not any issue with any specific venue.
A landlord of Lincoln Factory & Dreamtroit cofounder has been accused of assault & Zionism.

Quiet cancelling does not work when people need to be kept safe. Since we started WhateverFest in 2011 when it grew out of house parties we threw at the Hyesta, it’s always been about peace, unity & inclusivity.

Heartbroken with this situation, but these are the cards we’ve been dealt & I feel like we’re taking a needed stand of solidarity with real victims. We wish to stay true to our community & our core mission of celebrating freedom & art, peace & love.

Thank you to those who have voiced support for victims & our decision. We love you & we’ll be back soon xo

It seems like it was just yesterday we were rising at the crack of dawn start scrambling eggs and brewing coffee for our Draft diners.

What a week! What a life changing experience!

We created soooo many unforgettable memories!

From playing Bob the Builder daily.....to churning out 17 hour days....to navigating an outdooor kitchen & dinning room in torrential down pours...to Kieth Lee trying our food....to feeding 3500 people to the resounding praise from our clients and and guests. Indeed, a time was had!

We didn’t even mention that we stayed in an RV the whole week!.....Cause why get ready when you can stay ready?!?!? 💪🏾

A huge shout out to all the players that made the magic show possible! You are appreciated and loved dearly. 🖤🙏🏽

Flashback to when we did the damn thing at the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit! ❤️ From April 19-28th, @the.love_experience not only built our own kitchen from scratch, but we cooked up a storm that left everyone speechless. 🤯 We threw down unforgettable flavors and created an experience that exceeded all expectations.
But wait, there’s more! We also catered the NFL’s Draft Eve party and still brought the fire. 🔥🔥🔥
All the blood, sweat, and tears that led to this moment were absolutely worth it. The lessons learned and challenges overcome only reaffirm that we are the creators of our own destiny. 💪

Detroit has been a city of hope and nothing short of a blessing and we're so grateful to have been a part of Detroit history!

We partnered with 14 black/brown and woman owned businesses to make this happen and we could not be more proud of that!

Thank you @blackbizalliance for getting us, and all the members that had the opportunities to participate, a seat at the table!😭
