Here’s a look back at our REAL Mei launch, where a fermentation-led menu met a REAL paired to every course: Mei, Brut and Blush. Plenty of “what am I tasting?” moments were had.

Introducing REAL Mei, our new winter limited edition, created with British artist @charlottemei_ 🥂

Inspired by the beauty of winter, Mei is slow fermented sencha tea with delicate jasmine and fragrant lychee. Our celebration of the season most of us dread, and named after the Chinese character for beautiful.

We raised the first glass at @holycarrotrestaurant this week, with Charlotte’s joyful artwork, wonderful company and a fermentation-led menu from @chefdanielwatkins paired course by course with REAL. Thank you to everyone who joined us!

🥕 Holy Carrot… what a happy accident! 🥕

We booked Holy Carrot… but apparently London decided we needed a little adventure because there are TWO of them and, of course, we went to the wrong one! 😂

But honestly? Best mistake ever. They accommodated us anyway, and even better… the chef was actually there! 🙌

After all that incredible food, we got lucky enough to meet the big mind behind it all. @chefdanielwatkins What a pleasure to meet such a creative talent and put a face to all those delicious plates. ❤️

Taking our stories from the screen to the table, last week’s #DinnerService in London brought together friends and family of Service95 around a candlelit table at @holycarrotrestaurant to unpack this month’s theme: Moving Slowly.

On a warm summer evening, we reflected on what it means to be more intentional with our time: to slow down, be present and make more space for the people and things that really matter.

The night was expertly soundtracked by @s_sawyerr with a playlist designed to unfold “like a quiet meditation” and @divyavnkt talked us through the practice of guerrilla gardening as we tucked into a joyful vegetarian spread from @chefdanielwatkins.

So pleased that I have finally tried @holycarrotrestaurant – a vegan restaurant by @chefdanielwatkins in Notting Hill. A stonkingly brilliant 8-course set menu (at £45) which you can enjoy in the evening. We were comfortably seated, among a seemingly happy crowd, young and the more mature, in cool dimly-lit surroundings. Fermentation is at the forefront of the cuisine here and I was so impressed by the flavour sensations ignited in the process. I particularly loved the Koji flatbread with the irresistible almond dip, pickled mushroom, the “Sexy” tofu with smoked carrot XO, grilled asparagus with the superbly creamy butter bean miso sauce, among many others. Even my housemade Kimchi drink was terrific. Isn’t it wonderful that chefs are inspired to use Asian ingredients?
