VT restaurants need your help. Last Monday we shut our doors to 4 restaurants laying off a 170 people.
We ask the state to consider a full abatement on February and March rooms and meals tax.
This bill is due next week and restaurants need to stop the bleed.
This is simple and doable.

The Vermont restaurant community is like a family. We're a tight knit group, we support each other and take pride in serving our towns and local communities. We are not big chains and corporate owned restaurants, we are local owned small businesses. Our business affects so many other local businesses. From breweries and distilleries, to farmers and cheese makers, to local artisans and more! We are all connected and tied into the restaurant industry of Vermont. Without help it will be difficult if not impossible for many of the restaurants to re-open their doors once we can get back to work. You can e-mail the governors office and help us! Demand (or ask) help for the small businesses and restaurants so that we can continue to serve and provide for the communities we love! Also this can and should be done on the national level as this pandemic is touching everyone, everywhere. I have many friends who work in or own restaurants in other states who are dealing with the same uncertain future. Contact your congressmen and senators, look for national petitions. As is always the case restaurants can't survive without the support of the community around them. That is more true now than ever. Please everyone stay safe!
