A few missing because they had to dash to play other concerts, but here’s the Spring 2026 uclaFLUX crew! Happy faces after a beautifully-played concert. 💙💛 Thanks to @hvermeij for the great photos.

Still shot from @yeehawyaz’s intangible landscapes, a poignant work that captures our shared 2020 experiences of isolation and yearning for connection. @ellieloyaviolin, @samantha.bryn_ (piano), @lucalesko (double bass), @chellyjin (dancer/choreographer) and @jamess_fan (flute).

This clip is from Sonic Gestures, a new intermedia piece by @chellyjin, @samantha.bryn_, and @jamess_fan. Led and coordinated by Chelly (soon-to-be MFA in @ucla_desma!), the piece was staged and premiered in the @uclaalpert Schoenberg Hall lobby just prior to the @uclaflux spring 2026 concert.

It was mesmerizing to watch these three artists together. I wish there had been more foot traffic to appreciate it in person! But I loved watching the piece unfold with my friend @fugitiveprofessor. These students made something uniquely theirs—I really can’t imagine anything else that could so wholly fit this space and moment.

LAST WEEK TO SEE CORPOREAL TECHNOLOGIES! The exhibition is on view at the UCLA Broad Art Center’s New Wight Gallery through May 28. Featuring new works by the @ucla_dma Design Media Arts MFA 2026 cohort: @chellyjin @Dredgeops @lanxinerr @sadiaaa @sagan.yee

CORPTECH eschews total assimilation by joining discrete operations into literal bodies of work: Fractured echoes of an entombed body coalesce and resurrect under an algorithmic gaze. Virtual bodies contort at the press of a button, subject to cartoon gravity and gamified spectacle. Global crisis gives way to hivemind psychosis, while choreographed code traces an uncertain future history with every gesture.

Worlds collided for Dr. Richman today when @yeehawyaz worked with uclaFLUX students on their gorgeous _intangible landscapes_! Yaz was a violin and composition student at NYU when Dr. Richman taught there, and they have since gone on to a successful career as a composer (based in NYC). It was a privilege to hear their observations and ideas. Come hear this piece and much more on June 5 at 5 pm in Lani Hall, or stream it for free on the @uclaalpert website!

You are invited to CORPOREAL TECHNOLOGIES, a group exhibit featuring new works by the Design Media Arts MFA 2026 cohort: @chellyjin @Dredgeops @lanxinerr @sadiaaa @sagan.yee

Exhausting itself through the mere act of witness, the body achieves unlikely agency via that selfsame circuitry. Through data stream and surveillance feed, projection map and physics engine, CORPTECH renders our collective body legible to machinic and organic processes alike: operating/operated upon, metabolized/metastasizing, sovereign/laid bare.

🎉Opening Night: Thurs May 14 from 5 to 8 PM
📅Exhibit Run: May 14 to May 28
📍Location: New Wight Gallery, Broad Art Center 240 Charles E Young Drive North Los Angeles, CA 90095-1456

Free and open to the public.
Poster design by @sadiaaa

Follow us:
Instagram: @corp_tech
Website: corptech.show

#CorporealTechnologies #CorpTech #MediaArt #DMA #laart
