We all know the thought: “If I’d started years ago, I’d already be there.” 💭

Maybe. But if the best time to start was years ago, the second-best time is now.

So, the advice 39-year-old me would give 19-year-old me?

Stop searching for faster. Consistency compounds.

After 20+ years in fitness, six bodybuilding shows and years spent coaching women, these are the lessons that would have saved me years of frustration, unnecessary restriction and constantly wondering whether I was doing enough.

I see the same patterns play out with my 1:1 clients, challenge participants and women throughout the PB Facebook community. Meaningful progress rarely looks dramatic day to day.

It looks like executing the plan, respecting the timeline, recovering properly and getting obsessed with the wins nobody else sees.

That’s how you build the physique, the capacity, and the confidence that takes you from good-enough to THRIVING.

Which lesson do you wish you’d learned sooner?

Welcome to women's bodybuilding, Syd! 😂

Not speaking on behalf of all bodybuilders of course, but most of the ladies I know from this world, are team Sydney.

My take:

Sydney Sweeney is an actress and model, and people (especially female athletes) are really mad at her RN for… modeling.

I understand the concern - women have fought hard to be valued for what their bodies can DO rather than what they look like.

🥊I’m very much on board with that fight.

But I don’t think the answer is turning around and shaming another woman because her appearance and sexuality happen to be part of her career.

Women are more than their bodies. That does not mean our bodies suddenly have no value to us.

⁉️ Were we this angry when elite female athletes posed nude for ESPN?

⁉️ Were we this angry when Adriana Lima posed in lingerie with a football in a Victoria’s Secret Super Bowl ad?

⁉️ At what point did “empowerment” become an excuse for grown women to publicly tear down a 28-year-old woman?

Sydney isn’t pretending to be an Olympian. She’s an actress and model doing a provocative campaign AND in this case, she reportedly negotiated an equity position in the company rather than simply lending them her image.

A career that partially depends on youth and appearance has a shelf life... If anybody should understand that, it's female athletes. Monetizing that opportunity, investing it and creating optionality for the woman you’ll be 10, 20 or 30 years from now doesn’t sound like failing to understand your worth.

🏆 Bodybuilding lives in this same gray area.

If wanting a tiny waist and a great ass gets a woman under a barbell four times a week, I’m okay with that.

Maybe aesthetics gets her through the door.

Maybe strength, discipline, confidence, body awareness and community are what she leaves with.

We can celebrate what women’s bodies can DO without demanding that women stop caring about what they LOOK like.

We can advocate for women athletes without making another woman the enemy.

Sydney, if they kick you out, the bodybuilders will let you sit with us. 😂

The Physique Blueprint Podcast reached FeedSpot’s Top 18 Female Bodybuilding Podcasts.

A great deal of care has gone into building and curating this podcast over the years. Including course corrections that were difficult to make, but absolutely necessary.

The goal has always been to provide meaningful, credible content for women strategically building lean, hourglass physiques—with or without the stage.

Episodes feature leading experts in nutrition, endocrinology, physical therapy, mental health, and, of course, all things competition-specific.

What makes this recognition especially meaningful is seeing Physique Blueprint listed alongside podcasts I genuinely know and respect, including the #1-ranked podcast, Boss Bitch Radio, where I previously had the opportunity to be a guest.

You never know how far the work you keep showing up for will travel, or who it will help. It’s rewarding to see this work recognized.

And we’re only getting started. 🖤

Deep dive with me into an analysis of every completed 2026, US based, NPC national and pro-qualifying show for Figure, Bikini, Wellness and Fit Model.

Here’s what stood out:

🏆 Which show converts the most athletes to pros?

So far, Figure at Junior Nationals has the highest conversion at 24.0%.

For Bikini specifically, USA Championships leads at 14.8%, followed by North Americans at 11.0%.

👠 Fit Model or Bikini?

Fit Model has not offered better pro-card odds.

Its strongest conversion was 10.8% at USA Championships, compared with 14.8% for Bikini. More athletes = more pro cards up for grabs.

🙌 Which shows favor Masters athletes?

Teen/Collegiate/Masters Nationals offers the clearest dedicated Masters pathway.

North Americans and Universe also provide multiple age-group opportunities, and Masters athletes have earned Open cards at both. At North Americans alone, Masters athletes represented 70% of Bikini, 85% of Figure, 76% of Wellness and 62% of Fit Model competitors.

Important: This is historical context, not a prediction of any individual athlete’s odds. Field quality, qualification requirements and who shows up still matter.

✨ Comment NATIONALS and I’ll send you the full analysis:

✔️ every show
✔️ division (figure, wellness, bikini, fit model)
✔️ competitor count
✔️ pro-card award and unique-athlete conversion rate

How do I know a client is ready for a transformation like this?

It's not because they're already fit.

It's because they're ready to trust the process.

Jill came into Mock Prep as a full time successful business owner, part time fitness model, and someone who's no stranger to hard work. She knows how to show up. She knows how to execute.

But what impressed me most wasn't just her work ethic, it was her willingness to trust the process immediately.

We actually had Jill training less, shifting her macros to a more ideal ratio, and recovering better. She didn't negotiate for extra cardio, more workouts, or her way of doing things.

She committed to the plan, gave her body what it needed, and executed week after week.

The result?

✨ Over 10 pounds lost in just 8 weeks.
✨ A physique that was leaner, fuller, and stage-ready (or photoshoot ready).
✨ And the confidence that came from proving to herself what she was capable of.

At 61 years young, Jill reminds us that progress doesn't belong to a certain age. It belongs to the women who are willing to learn, trust, and stay consistent.

My job wasn't to outwork Jill. She already knew how to work hard. My job was to provide the strategy, make the right adjustments, and guide her through the Mock Prep process so all of that effort was finally directed in the right places.

As Jill put it:

"I even surpassed my own expectations."

And honestly, that's my favorite kind of transformation.

It was great to connect with this rockstar woman and such a great reminder of how much we're truly capable of.

New client testimonial!! Always a blessing to work with so many rockstars like @chelsea__kidd . Always crushing it.

“I’ve been grateful for the opportunity to work with Austin as a mentee (supporting my coaching with his clinical expertise), and athlete/client, and a professional colleague. He is a professional through and through, committed to his work as a coach and Registered Dietitian in a way that shows in his passion and dedication.

As a mentee and colleague working on the delivery of a corporate wellness webinar, I especially appreciated Austin’s mastery of nutrition, clinical implications of specific diets, bloodwork analysis support, communication skills, and professionalism.

As Austin’s athlete, I felt that he was truly personally invested in my success. Austin is willing to give tough feedback but comes from a place of warmth and genuine compassion and investment in his clients’ well-being and achievements. He communicated next steps as we progressed my training, did a great job helping me stay motivated during a time of transition when it would have been easy to let me fitness and nutrition become derailed. He was quickly able to recognize patterns in my food logs that improved my nutrition quality overall, worked with me for training that was flexible to fit my schedule, and was always prompt and thorough in his check-in responses.

I adore Austin both professionally and personally as a friend. I will continue to recommend him for lifestyle and competitors and look forward to continuing our work together.”

Checking in from Medellín, Colombia.

This past week has been dedicated to getting my digital-nomad-business-owner-aspiring-bikini-athlete-with-a-slight-side-quest-addiction routine dialed in.

✔️ Groceries & meal prep
✔️ Coworking space
✔️ Gym membership

Today I'm "taking the day off" to explore... anybody who owns a business knows this really means answering messages from a coffee shop with a prettier view. 🙃

I'll be international for ~3 months total, the priorities are:

🤍 Show up for the women I coach. Those who have been with me since I was hopping through Asia know - even when I'm halfway around the world, your progress is still my priority. My mission remains the same: helping women 35+ build strong, confident hourglass physiques, and continuing to build Physique Blueprint into the resource I wish more women had.

💪 Build that 🍑!!! I've got some adventures coming up that demand more strength and better cardio conditioning. Longer term, I'd love to step on stage again with an improved package.

🧠 Train my mind with the same intention I train my body. I'm excited to start working with Celeste again and continue building the capacity to create the extraordinary life I'm chasing.

Thank you to my friends for keeping me sane. Solo travel can be lonely, and it's nice to have a break from butchering Spanish to connect in English voice notes.

"Why I Keep Creatine In My Prep 💪"
Everyone cuts creatine before a show. I don't. Here's why.
Creatine doesn't make you hold water under your skin — it pulls water into your muscle cells. That means fuller, rounder muscles on stage, not a flat, depleted look.
Your strength stays up. Your pumps stay nasty. And when you're already in a deficit, every rep counts.
The athletes who cut it? They come in flat, wonder why they look smaller than they did six weeks out, and blame their diet.
Keep the creatine. Dial the sodium. Manipulate water the right way.
Full, dry, and striated — that's the look.

This one got me. 🥹

A client sent me this voice note after checking in this week, and I had to ask if I could share it.

Meet Inga, @inga8lee—a woman who certainly knows her way around fitness but is brave enough to own where she's struggled.

Her voice note hit hard because I've lived pieces of it myself, I know my body will continue to change, and I hear versions of this story from women every single week.

*I don't want fear to write the next chapter for any of us.*

The woman comparing herself to the body she had at 22.
The athlete convinced her best days are behind her.
The woman who no longer feels at home in her own skin.

Inga's message isn't really about weight loss.

It's about feeling capable, strong, confident... and at home in herself again.

That's what happens when we stop holding ourselves hostage to the comparison of a memory. The body you have today is the only one that will respond to a strategy built for today—not yesterday.

It's been an honor to help put some of the final refinements on the journey Inga already built through her relentless commitment to getting 1% better every day.

I know you're just getting started, Inga. ❤️

The closer you get to show day, the less room there is for guessing. 🏆
Deep in prep, every meal matters. A meal plan takes the thinking off your plate (literally) so you can put that energy into your training.
Your coach already did the math. Your job is to execute.
✅ Same meals. Same portions. Same timing.
✅ Your body adapts and responds predictably
✅ Peak week becomes less scary when you've been consistent for 16 weeks
Consistency beats perfection every time — and a meal plan makes consistency automatic.
Are you a meal plan or macro tracker during prep? Drop it below 👇 I'm curious where the bodybuilding community lands on this.
