THANK YOU TORONTO - the last four weeks have been like nothing I’ve ever experienced - personally and professionally. It’s been a bit like trying to take a sip from a garden hose (to use a rather colourful analogy). In times like these, we see both the best and worst of humanity. I choose to focus on the positives, the small wins.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, I want to express my ‘thanks’ to all of you. The messages of love, support and gratitude over the last weeks for simply staying on the air and providing some semblance of ‘normalcy’ have been, frankly, overwhelming. I’ve received beautiful words over IG and Twitter (haven’t even opened FB yet) that make the days feel easier.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
On a normal day, I try to respond to every msg individually, but for the first time, I can’t keep up. So I’m posting THIS to say thank you. While it’s unsettling to have to leave the comfort of home everyday at 4AM to go to work in these times, it’s also given me a sense of purpose, and some social sanity to be able to interact with my work family. It’s my honour - now more than ever, I’ve learned - to try and bring you the right mix of news and fun to start your day. It’s a balance we shoot for every morning, and most days - I like to think - we strike it.

Thanks for reading. And remember: we’re in this together. There’s something very comforting about that. Now, back to (insert random skill you were learning today) Quarantine Day 19.
