On reflection, despite disappointingly poor attendance from the early 00s England men’s football and rugby teams, I think we outdid the rough book plan.

2 weddings. 2 gorgeous newly weds. Multiple days. Multiple outfits. Multiple beautiful locations. Multiple beautiful people, inside and out.
Getting @leloveluck married was a magnificent dream. Lots of the photos look like it was our wedding which I am not mad about. @renmansour has been married to her for 2 months but I’ve been married to her for 25 years. @leloveluck I love you with my whole heart and I couldn’t be more grateful for the years we’ve stood beside each other, the life events we’ve survived together, you make me laugh til I cry and I am a better person because I have you in my life.
My most beloved holiday companions @lauraewilliams12 @quintachapman @matthewjomasthomas @chelsiebailey_bartender ❤️ What a fucking delight. More. I always always want more time with you.
I was absolutely honoured to bridesmaid alongside the loving, kind, talented, patient, gorgeous, funny, fearless @rawanssa and ejbeals
@renmansour you are stuck with us now. I love you too and it was a privilege to be stood amongst your friends and family and feel part of all that love. Thank you for letting me literally and legally witness your marriage.

Same time next year?

Don’t Hesitate
BY MARY OLIVER
If you suddenly and unexpectedly feel joy,
don’t hesitate. Give in to it. There are plenty
of lives and whole towns destroyed or about
to be. We are not wise, and not very often
kind. And much can never be redeemed.
Still, life has some possibility left. Perhaps this
is its way of fighting back, that sometimes
something happens better than all the riches
or power in the world. It could be anything,
but very likely you notice it in the instant
when love begins. Anyway, that’s often the case.
Anyway, whatever it is, don’t be afraid
of its plenty. Joy is not made to be a crumb.

Ahead of @worldclass Global Final in Edinburgh next week, we caught up with two-time World Class GB winner, Matt Arnold (who is always a winner in our book).

He chats to us about why he’s been on the World Class journey since 2021, what he’s learned from
the process and why this year will be his last time.

Bring it home champ! 🏆

Is London still the place to be for ambitious bartenders? 👀

In our latest guest column, World Class GB top-three finalist @chelsiebailey_bartender reflects on her experiences in Bristol and London, challenging the idea that moving to the capital is essential for success in the bar industry.

From the opportunities and pressures of London to building a career beyond the capital, Chelsie makes the case for forging your own path.

ONE LAST WEEK

I’m 7 days away from being in the thick of competing in my last ever World Class. It’s a strange place to be as this whole process has been such an anchor point of my career.

When I look back on the rollercoaster it’s been it’s not the serves or presentations that stand out, it’s the people.

I’ve been given some of my nearest and dearest as a result of talking about a drink on stage for 6 minutes. Mental.

Coming into Scotland, would I love to be able to pull it off on home soil? Obviously. Do I think I’ve kind of already won if not? Absolutely.

But that being said - Bring it on.

❤️‍🔥 EQUAL MEASURES UK’S AUCTION EVENING ❤️‍🔥

What a night! A massive thank you to all who came, bid, sipped, ate, and laughed with us. This was truly the pinnacle of what hospitality is and can be. The energy in the room was warm, collective, and cathartic. It truly exemplified to us what our industry can be when we all work together to support and celebrate one another.

There are too many thank yous to list in a social media caption but here are a few.

Thank you to our amazing Donors (too many to tag but we appreciate all of you SO MUCH) and our Sponsors, @diageogb @thomashenryofficial @everleafdrinks @chefjaymorjaria @rockoysters @westholme @drinkabilityuk - we could not have done this without you.

A huge thank you to our wonderful hosts @nancyscocktails for welcoming us with open arms and making the event run smoothly.

Big love to all the people and brands who donated to the sipping menu, including @lox_dj @adelaide_h_e @intspiritschal @worlddrinks @india.blanch @bacardilimited1862 @houseofdecant_ @wovenwhisky

Unwavering gratitude to our incredible bartenders @dondeanomoncrieffe @chelsiebailey_bartender @dremasso @benedetta_paris_bartender and our outstanding EMbers @miakumarii @sipwithneph @arielzong0301 @michaelsmarvellousmedicine @goergiosvrettos1989 @bar_hun_for_more @bitlatetothepartysarah @charlietheflair .

Appreciation and awe for our phenomenal auctioneer @jack_sotti for handling the gavel with style and pizzazz, as well as @whisky.auction for making this whole thing possible!

And a final thank you to our wonderful videographer Rory Mclaughlin @rory.mc_laughlin for capturing the night, alongside the fantastic @whyte_tales (photos dropping soon).

We wholeheartedly mean it when we say that Equal Measures is a community, and we are so grateful to count all of you within it. Thank you for your support and care. Together, we can make hospitality better for all.

Much love 🖤🤍❤️‍🔥
