✨ SHORT NAILS DESERVE THEIR MOMENT TOO ✨

There’s something so beautiful about watching a set of short nails transform.

Short doesn’t mean boring.
Short doesn’t mean you can’t have beautiful structure.
And short certainly doesn’t mean there isn’t a journey worth celebrating.

This is about progress, patience and healthy nails — and I absolutely love being here to watch that journey unfold.
From where we started, to where we are now… every little bit of growth, strength and improvement deserves to be celebrated.

I’m not here to rush the process or make nails something they’re not. I’m here to work with your natural nails, protect their health and help you get to a place where you can look down and feel proud of them.

And honestly? Short manicures can be just as beautiful, elegant and luxurious as long nails.

Here’s to the journey… and to seeing just how far these little nails can go.

Cat eye magic by Kokoist

Known for their high-quality Japanese gel systems and innovative formulas, Kokoist continues to set the standard for dimensional nail art.

This design layers multiple dramatic magnetic gels to create intense depth and movement, paired with magpie flakes for added texture and sparkle from every angle. Finished with Black Accessory Bond chrome details for that bold, reflective edge — luxe, moody, and completely mesmerising.

There’s something so special about being trusted to just create

My lovely client gave me a colour palette she loved and told me to run with it… and somewhere along the way, I felt that creative spark coming back. The kind that flows naturally, without overthinking.

It’s been a while since I’ve felt this inspired — and it felt really good to get lost in the process again 🤍

For this set I used all products from Kokoist:

• A range of colours from the Dramatic Magnet collection
• Nail Thoughts “Mount Fuji View”
• Nail Thoughts “Honey Tea Base”
• Chrome details - Black Non Wipe Accessory Bond ✨

✨ Let the journey into Wonderland begin ✨

My new favourite glitter gel is Cheshire Charm — and honestly, it pairs with everything. A shimmering candy-pink packed with fine reflective micro-glitter that twinkles beautifully when the light hits ✨

I’ve paired it with Ask Alice, a vibrant light turquoise with a delicate shimmer that truly captures the eye

Both these beauties are part of the new Lost in Wonderland collection

2025 recap: July.

Compared to June this was a much quieter month. I spent the first part of it helping the garden recover from the damage it'd received in the heatwave, and soon it was looking reasonable again.

Chel and I went to a couple of shows - La Voix in Milton Keynes, and The Comedy About Spies in London, and enjoyed both. The latter suffered slightly from many seats in the theatre having restricted views of the very large set, but thanks to some judiciously-placed screens we didn't miss anything.

2025 recap: January.

The year started out very cold, with frozen water on both the canal and the lake where I row. Thankfully the ice soon melted and we were back out (suitably wrapped up).

Also that month, Chel and I went to see Dear Evan Hansen on tour, which was excellent - I felt like they'd made some improvements since I saw it in London several years ago.

One of my occasional baking specialties is #doughnuts - they're delicious but they make a hell of a mess and take ages, so I don't do them very often. This month I did a mixed batch of ring and jam ones, and they were fantastic if I do say so myself!

Cat Eye Aura ✨

Everyone loves an aura… but have you tried creating one using cat eye?

Let’s get into it 👇

Start by choosing your base. I’ve used Temptation from the Dare to Indulge collection – a rich, creamy purple that pairs beautifully with Mermaid Kitty.

The important step:
After applying your Buttercream and fully curing, apply a thin layer of QD Base to act as a blooming gel.

Next, add a very, very small dot of Mermaid 🧜🏽‍♀️ Kitty. (I’ve used the brush in this reel, but a dotting tool gives better control.)
Watch it gently disperse, and once you’re happy with the aura effect, cure.

To finish, I added:

* Primary Black Gel Paint for subtle chrome detailing
* Gold Metallic Buttercream for a delicate border
*
And there you have it… Cat Eye Auras ✨

🎃 October is just around the corner, and you know what that means… Halloween season is HERE! 👻🕸️

One of my fave parts of this time of year is going through my stock and rearranging it for the spooky season—and that’s when I find hidden gems like this one: Black Magic glitter gel ✨🖤

A black glitter base with tiny flashes of orange, fuchsia, green, and bright blue… it’s basically Halloween in a pot! 😍
This one’s an old limited edition (sadly no longer available 😭), but it’s perfect for creating stunning ombrés.

I’ve layered it over Lexy Line Soft Pink Extreme, then added a few extra purple flake pieces to make it really pop.
I love adding texture like this to my ombrés—it gives them that extra bit of wow! 💅🔥
Who’s already diving into Halloween sets? 🎃✨

Want to take your chrome nails to the next level? You NEED to try this trick I learned from @masucarpone 👑

💅 Here’s the step-by-step:
1. Start with a Lexy Line base
2. Apply Take a Bow Buttercream + Stormy Kittie
3. Cure, then apply Top Gloss and cure again
4. Rub in your fave chrome (powder or liquid) with a makeup sponge
5. Lightly pat a damp glasses cloth over the nail
6. Use a dry version of the same cloth to rub it out and ✨ SHINE!
You’ll be obsessed with the final look. Trust me 😍
