here at the Cap, we love to share and celebrate art of all kinds ✨ and we’re so happy to have the work of Cheryl Lavigne in the Wilser's Room for the next few months 💫

@cheryllavigneart (she/they) is an emerging visual artist living on Wolastoqiyik territory in Fredericton, New Brunswick. She is a practicing visual artist, arts educator, and cultural worker. Currently, Cheryl is exploring the fluidity of ink and brush as a daily practice to observe tendencies in mark making when approached spontaneously and intuitively. These ink drawings inform other areas of creation for Cheryl. Through her work, Cheryl considers the continuum of interconnected co-existence with all things past, present, and future. With that in mind, she contemplates our relationship to this land while dreaming of the possibilities of lands unknown.

Hi Cheryl! Thanks you this beautiful birthday card years ago. Sharing because your style and subjects have evolved so much. I still cherish this and the larger work of yours I have in my collection.#canadianartists🇨🇦 #artmakesagreatgift #smilingwillsorting #declutteryourlife

Cheryl Lavigne is interested in exploring her attraction to organic forms and what she considers a “nature aesthetic.” She works out of her Fredericton studio and enjoys slow observation of the various habitats in NB’s forests, fields and wetlands.

The FAA Gala, taking place at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre, is just one week away! Purchase your ticket at CSAC, Westminster Books, Gallery on Queen, or even at the door the night of. More of Cheryl's work is currently on display at CSAC.

Visit https://www.frederictonartsalliance.ca for more details about the contributing artists’ work being auctioned next week.
