Our only rainy day was our last one. We had 5 or six spins on the Ferris wheel, thanks to @bfprva

Then had quiet time in the cathedral

Before having a last walk on the ramparts

And a last dinner on La Grande Rue, here seen before WWII

...and here seen in September 1944 (our apartment building was reconstructed near the center of this page) after the siege.

Now we're in Paris eating snails and boeuf bourguignon

And staying in the delightful Solly Hotel

Where the bathroom offers an opportunity for a double self-portrait!

Over the past four years, VCUarts Eastern Shore Fieldwork Studio has invited students to live and learn on Virginia’s Eastern Shore through an immersive study away experience. In partnership with organizations like the Barrier Island Center, and the Nature Conservancy, students from interior design, graphic design, art, education, urban, planning and more explore the intersection of ecology, history, design, and community. From studying barrier islands and local craft to collaborating with local partners this program redefines the classroom and community engagement through the arts. In summer 2025, we partnered with The Sunroom Video Production Co to capture the experience – check out their beautiful film through the link in our bio and stay tuned for what’s next!

A SOUND PRACTICE

It’s one of our most treasured practices. After curating a collection the arranging begins. Combining intuition, skill, play and good luck. And does it ever bring us joy!

Our visual compositions become a symphony of sorts – showcasing works of art, design and craft in surprising and harmonious ways.

They demonstrate the impact made from combining accomplished pieces that take on new energy in the context of their surroundings.

These compositions invite the eye to travel – connecting narratives, noticing juxtapositions and often playful connections between form, pattern, material and color.

On the eve of a proper space refresh – we want to take the opportunity to celebrate one of our most recent focal walls.

We hope you’ll be inspired – here at Boon and at home. Create your own compositions, rearrange your art, furniture and objects – doing so helps you reconnect with them. It allows you to see things you love in a new light, figure out what no longer serves you and discover what might be missing. All in an effort to create a home that reflects and supports who you are and the life you’re living now.

So please, DO try this at home.

Honored and beyond blessed to be a part of a team that provides a platform for voices unheard, such as these. This year was very much a challenging one. But, witnessing the processes and capturing such talent from incredible designers and artists is not something I will ever take for granted.

Here’s to shifting perspectives since 1919 and continuing on into 2026!

@chesapeakeandcherrystone I don’t know when your birthday is, but you’re the only Camden I know. Saw this today and had to post before it gets lost in my photos forever. Happy birthday!
