In loving memory of our dad, my brother @dr.matt_brennandroper is doing the @silkroadmountainrace to raise money money for the @chestandheart It is a very special charity which our dad supported for 30 years, first as the Medical Director and then as chairman. And for which he was awarded the British Empire Medal last year.

That’s the first week done then! 🥳 135km done towards the 800 and I can actually see that I’m moving along the route map! These 7 days have been by far the most physically challenging thing I’ve ever done. Compounded by the heat I’m sure. No amount of preparation could have prepared me for it. You just have to literally put one foot in front of the other. I think it took me till day 5 - despite the toes issue - to relax into this new way of life. Get up early; walk to destination: shower; rest; eat; attempt to sleep and repeat. The highlights have definitely been the interactions forged along the way. Priceless. But also I’m proud of my body. Despite every day bringing a new physical challenge, I’m definitely getting stronger. Well I’d like to think so anyway! 🤣 When I walk to work @chestandheart it’s 5k one way. I’ve been using that measure to predict how long the day’s walk will take. It doesn’t work 🤣 But I’ve definitely exercised my lungs and heart!

🪩 bringing the buzz to the footy
🪩 also enjoying BUZZ balls outside of work, petition to have shares in the company...

💚 The PPBF is currently being supported by the @waitrose_admiralpark Community Matters scheme! We’re grateful to be included alongside @cleanearthtrust and @chestandheart both working hard for the community 💚

Simply collect your green token at checkout and vote for the cause that resonates with you at the token unit. The charity with the most votes receives £1,500 while 2nd and 3rd receive £1,000 and £500 respectively, so every vote matters ✨

Funds kindly donated to the PPBF will go towards the work we do for local babies, children and their families. We support them through our UK-based compassionate housing, fundraising for the Special Care Unit, Baby Boxes, care packages, emergency travel packs and much more 🫶

✨Episode 3 ✨: "Heart-to-Heart" was such a beautiful start to our Friday! 🌟 Georgina’s gentle yoga flow was just what we needed, and the sound-bath was such a treat! 🧘‍♀️✨

A huge thank you to Caroline and Liz from the Guernsey Chest and Heart LBG for giving us helpful tips to improve heart health 🙌, reminding us to:
• Eat a varied, balanced diet full of veggies, grains, and protein 🥦
• Have 2 alcohol-free days each week 🍷
• Stay hydrated 💧
• Keep an eye on blood pressure and cholesterol levels ❤️

It was also amazing to connect with so many new faces and share in meaningful conversations. Networking and learning together made this session even more worthwhile! 💬🤝

Thanks to #polygoninsurancebrokers for their continued support in sponsoring the brunch, upgradefitness for providing us with the studio, it was brilliant and such a great location.

The freshly made food from the bathing pools was as delicious as always.
