Plenty of convenient parking in the pier parking structure. Come early and take a stroll and grab a bite on one of So Cal’s most beautiful piers. Doors at 7, bands start at 8.

Thursday really got away from me so we are a day late on “Who’s Chett With Today?” Today’s/yesterday’s contestant is one of the greatest punk rock guitarists ever, Mr. Ron Emory of TSOL. I recently took this photo of two of my very good friends, the incomparable @edwardcolver and @laswastedyouthofficial @chettlehrer. These two men have been indelibly linked by Edward’s Chuck Burke “Front Flip” photo (the most iconic hardcore punk photo ever shot) which appeared on the back cover of Wasted Youth’s “Reagan’s In” LP in 1981. The tie-in between the photo and the band is the LA’s Wasted Youth sticker Burke has on the back of his thigh. I first met Edward when I was a teenage photographer and he was so kind and gracious to me, even letting me stand in front of him to take photos. I photographed Chett and LA’s Wasted Youth a few times. Their live show was insane as anyone who was there would attest. Our friend photographer extraordinaire and all round great guy @edwardcolver shared this magnificent photo of @luckylehrer of @circlejerksband with us. Lucky is the brother of LA’s Wasted Youth’s founder and guitarist @chettlehrer. We love the Wasted Youth tee Lucky is sporting. Edward captured so many great moments in the history of punk. Not just the bands playing live but the behind the scenes, intimate moments when no one else was looking. Edward was one of us and through his photography was able to capture the LA punk scene like no other photographer has done during or since. This photo is also a surprise for Chett, a truly special person who has revived LA’s Wasted Youth into its best possible form. Without people like Edward, Lucky and Chett the punk scene would have flickered out long ago. Cheers to them and all the other OG’s who showed the way.
