Anyone who follows me knows how much I love the Little People, BIG DREAMS series… so I’m always excited when new titles arrive on my shelves.

This latest stack introduces young readers to six incredible lives: Rihanna, Oprah Winfrey, Mikaela Shiffrin, William Shakespeare, Leonardo da Vinci, and Beatrix Potter.

From music and media icons to legendary creatives and sporting champions.

One of the things I love most about this series is how it brings big stories down to a child’s level, showing that every extraordinary life starts with a dream!

Which one would you pick up first?

Remember when I used to play guess the book with you guys I’ve decided to bring it back why not.

▶️How to play:
I will give you three clues to guess the book that I’m thinking about and then at the end of the reel I’ll share it and see if you guessed right!!

Can you guess the book before I reveal it? 😉

Happy happy birthday to THEE Oprah Winfrey!

From a little girl who loved books and reciting poems to one of the most influential voices in the world, Oprah’s story is a powerful reminder of what empathy, determination, and dreaming big can do.

This Little People, Big Dreams biography shares her journey in a way that feels honest, hopeful, and inspiring for kids (and grown-ups, too). A beautiful read for sparking conversations about resilience and believing in yourself.

Meet Sera Latterell, an artist from North Carolina whose work is rooted in storytelling, identity, and the small wonders of everyday life. 🎨🩵

With degrees in biology and anthropology, she brings a thoughtful, layered perspective to her illustrations, which often explore folklore, psychology, family, and faith.

As a multiracial artist and mom of four, Sera is passionate about helping children see themselves reflected in the books they read. Her illustrations are vibrant, thoughtful, and full of heart — often inspired by the chaos, joy, and curiosity of her own family.

Outside of illustrating, you’ll find her meditating, gardening, reading children’s books, and learning new things — usually with a podcast in her ears and a sketchbook close by.

I am really pleased with how this illustration turned out. Birds and birdhouses have always caught my eye and I wanted to do a holiday prompt combining themes such as baking, gifting, berries, sweaters, homes, etc.
