Ever wondered why Super8 film feels so magical in wedding videos? Maybe it’s because it doesn’t feel like footage. It feels like a memory. And memories come from your history. Take Kat & John. They met at work in 2016. They talked. They drifted apart. They found their way back to each other. Again and again. Three years of almost. Then finally, they clicked. By the time we did their engagement shoot at Greystone Manor in Beverly Hills, they had already built a life together. Kids. Date nights. Long drives. Family. The quiet stuff that doesn’t always make it into a wedding highlight. So we filmed them the way it felt. Black and white Super8. Grain. Flicker. A little imperfect. Kat laughing. John looking at her. The two of them moving through an old Hollywood estate like they had stepped into a different time. And underneath it all, her voice: “From the moment I met you nine years ago, I never imagined that I’d be standing here today ready to take you on as my life partner.” That’s the thing about Super8. Years from now, they probably won’t notice the grain. They’ll remember what it felt like to be young, in love, and still becoming the family they were meant to be. That’s why we love mixing Super8 with digital. Not because it looks vintage. Because sometimes the imperfect stuff feels the most real. It connects memories and makes them feel more memorable in the process. SAVE this post so you can reference the nostalgic charm of Super8 film for your wedding. ——— Bride // @kat_dasig Groom // @jpaul_97 Venue // @venue808 Engagement Shoot // @greystonebh Planner // @wonloveevents Video & Photo // @filmlifeweddings DJ // @dancingdjproductions BTS Content Creator // @thebellarazzi Florist // @chic.flowers Dress // bridalandveilsd Desserts // @sweetmolarkitchen Cocktails // @coastalcuisineandcocktailco Makeup // @makeupbylindajoy Hair // @beccaburdette_hairbabe Magazine Box Rental // @nanievents

Some of my favorite photographs happen because I decided not to direct anything. At this wedding at La Jolla Country Club, the second the ceremony ended and this couple walked back down the aisle as newlyweds, I could feel the entire room shift, cheering, hands in the air, everyone on their feet at once. My instinct in a moment like that is not to jump onto the next event scheduled to happen. It is to read the room, find the best angle, and let it happen exactly as it wants to. This is something I think about at every wedding, not just the big scripted moments. Weddings are full of instants that only exist for a second, a guest's reaction the moment a couple is announced as married, a parent wiping their eyes, a whole room erupting at once. My job is to notice when one of these moments is about to happen and position myself to catch it, without ever stepping into it and changing what it would have been anyway. That kind of attentiveness is not something I can plan for in advance. It comes from staying present and paying close attention all day long, so nothing catches me off guard when it matters. If you want a wedding day photographed by someone who notices these moments instead of manufacturing them, I would love to be part of your celebration at La Jolla Country Club or anywhere in San Diego. No two weddings are ever the same, and that’s honestlyyy one of our favorite parts of what we do. Every couple brings something different, and we love getting to capture it in a way that actually feels like them, having fun the whole day while we are at it. - Also, there is SO much good inspo in these weddings so take noteee! - It’s been so fun (borderline insane) watching Jeune Perché grow from the early days into what it is now. Every time we come back, there’s somehow something new that makes it even better. 😂😍 - Scroll to the end to see the venue from the earliest days with the first editorial, which was published in print to help introduce the venue. ❤️ - - - #JeunePerche #LuxuryWeddingPhotographer #EditorialWeddingPhotography #CaliforniaLuxuryWedding #SanDiegoWeddingPhotographer
