🎙️FIRST LOOK: From rendering to reality!

Every great set starts with a vision! Take a first look at the set rendering for “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play”, designed by Bob Knuth.

Having designed the entirety of Citadel’s previous season (and much more!), Bob knows our stage inside and out. He’s the perfect person to transform it into a beautiful 1940s radio studio for this holiday classic.
These to-scale renderings are the first step in bringing Bedford Falls to life! Working alongside director, Jack Hickey, Bob and Citadel’s design team are creating an intimate, immersive experience where every detail works in harmony and every seat has a great view.

🎤 FULL SPEECH

🙏🏽 what an honor! thank you league of chicago theatres and broadway in chicago for the “backstage champion” award. i love being artistic director of Asian American Arts Chicago @aaartschicago

🏆 in my speech, i made everyone pinky promise to really, really, really cast chicago stages to look like CHICAGO: more aapi talent, more trans actors, more otherly abled actors.

☝🏽i challenged everyone, especially the big houses, to stop stereotyping asian americans on stage cuz when they stereotype us, they make us all look small.

⭐️ and we shouldn’t be small cuz we’re sparks of this beautiful universe sharing our stories on stage with each other, so let’s not be small!

🪅thanks again and let’s make the greatest theater city in america even better.
