🏅CHICAGO MARATHON 🇺🇸🩵✨😍 3:19:23 🏁

La mia sesta maratona. La mia terza Major in un anno.

Ho vissuto un’altra meravigliosa esperienza in una città meravigliosa, pazzesca, americana vera!

Un pubblico folle, migliaia di persone ad incitare tutti, creando un’atmosfera incredibile, carica di adrenalina. Un’energia difficile da spiegare a parole.

È stata la mia miglior prestazione sui 30 km. Peccato che ne erano 42! 😂 Poi è arrivato il muro e nel tunnel della fatica, sono riuscito a portarla a termine.

Sono partito troppo, troppo forte, consapevole e incosciente allo stesso tempo. Sapevo che prima o poi sarebbe arrivato il momento più difficile, ma a Chicago le gambe giravano facili, il pubblico era pazzesco, l’adrenalina era a mille… e la gestione della gara è finita in secondo piano. Grave errore. ☝🏼

Colpa mia. Zero alibi. Zero scuse.

Lo sport,però, ti offre sempre nuove opportunità per rimediare.

Non ridimensionerò mai il sogno. Migliorerò il lavoro. 💪🏻

La soddisfazione più grande che porto a casa, ancora una volta, sono le emozioni che la corsa sa regalarmi lungo tutto il viaggio. Ho condiviso istanti e momenti con persone provenienti da ogni parte del mondo: dal ritiro del pettorale al riscaldamento, durante la gara, fino all’abbraccio finale al traguardo. 🌎❤️

Ringrazio di cuore tutti i miei amici e conoscenti che, con una chiamata, un messaggio o una parola, mi hanno sostenuto fino alla fine. Ve ne sono davvero grato! ❤️🤝

Dedico questa medaglia alla mia Famiglia, in cielo e in terra, che mi sostiene incondizionatamente e continua a credere in me anche in luoghi molto lontani❤️🏡♾️

Infine, dedico questo traguardo importante ad un amico importante che ho perso pochi giorni fa. Un amico di tutti. Il gigante buono. BB, Berardino Baiocco, un’icona che ha accompagnato la mia vita, dalla mia infanzia ad oggi.

Quando mi incontri sulla Piana a correre, continua a suonarmi ed incoraggiarmi con quel sorriso, come hai sempre fatto.

Chicago, you were something special.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated, supported me, and helped get me to that starting line. Every donation meant so much to me, and I couldn’t have done this without you. ❤️ A special thank you to my family and my beautiful wife for always believing in me, supporting me, and being by my side through it all. I’m forever grateful for you.

The Mexican flag on my shirt meant more to me than just representing where my family comes from. 🇲🇽 It was my way of honoring my family and thanking them for all the sacrifices they made to come to this country and give us opportunities they never had. The opportunity to chase dreams like this one is something I’ll never take for granted.

My first World Marathon Major, 26.2 miles, and a moment I’ll never forget. Proud to have run for a cause bigger than myself with @chicagorun and to be reminded of everything and everyone that got me here.

Chicago Marathon 2026 debrief. What happened? Biggest take away. Again massive thank you to anything that donated or shared or reposted my story or charity donation. Can’t thank you guys enough

Shout out to my amazing wife for hauling two girls to come cheer me on. Chicago is not an easy city to haul kids around, let along through a packed out city with 50,000 plus runner. They were at 3 different locations. I am one lucky man

I gave it my all, pushed myself beyond my limits and had no regrets

unfortunately with the weather, my body hit 106 temp and I collapsed at mile 25. The next time I woke up was in an ice bath submersion at the tent.

To the strangers who helped me off my feet before I blacked out, to my friends who came running to support me at the tent, to each person volunteering in the medical team, to the @chicagorun team for giving me a chance to run for your mission and cause, and to my coach @da_fiteducator & the @capcityrunnersalbany family who came out to support on the course, I am incredibly grateful and in your debt.

sub 3 was the goal, and it slipped away again but I count my blessings to run another day.

@chimarathon, we have unfinished business, I’ll see you next year 🤘

Chicago marathon 2026 in books and am still buzzing from the whole experience. The ability to voluntarily choosing to do hard things and suffering through it is something I will never complain about. Forever grateful of my body is capable of doing. 2027 shall we run it back?

Chicago did not turn out the way I wanted it to turn out but a chore memory was made today

Got the best surprise of my life when my wife texted me she was at mile 2. I had an out of body experience because my wife was supposed to be at home. But she decided to bring the girls to cheer me on and I needed that today
….
The race fell apart but I won the race today. I am the richest man on earth

We met my wife @laurawipf328 at mile 15 of a grueling 26 mile task. Suffering from acute bronchitis for the last few days she was bound to determined to get through this as a personal victory and for @chicagorun because she believes in their mission to help knock out child obesity. This woman can make it through anything! She gave birth to both of my children and now has run multiple marathons. #toughcookie #marathon #supermom #fitness

They say the hay is in the barn, but not sure if there was any hay to put in the barn on this one.

This is not an ideal marathon build. It was less that 12 weeks of build with 2 to 3 weeks of subpar running due to some knee injuries. The motto for this build is “AGAINST ALL ODDS”. The odds were already stacked against me from the get go. Coming from an 100 mile race jumping into a marathon build is not ideal, but could not pass the opportunity to run and race funds for a charity like @chicagorun

Hoped for the best but the odds stacked up pretty quickly. In a weird way, all the set backs actually anchored the motto a bit more. In life the odds will rarely line up perfectly, you still gotta keep taking swings. In few days will be taking a swing and hope @chimarathon doesn’t swing back too hard
