365,000 students. 634 schools. A $9 Billion budget. And only 21 people sitting on the board making decisions that shape their future...

When you look at the sheer scale of Chicago Public Schools, one thing is clear: 21 board members cannot know what is happening inside every classroom unless parents, educators, and neighbors stay engaged and demand proximity.

We need board members who live on our blocks, understand neighborhood realities, and answer directly to families-not big-money donors or outside PACS.

This November, Chicagoans are electing members to the Board of Education for the first time in history. Make sure your voice is heard!

Reminder! In Illinois, returning citizens automatically regain their right to vote upon release! Pretrial in Cook County Jail? You retain your full right to vote 🤜🏽🤛🏽

✨Meet Irene Romaniuk, one of ILARJ’s coalition partners inside of IDOC. Irene is 1 of the 1,446 women completing her sentence in an Illinois state prison who is unable to vote in the upcoming elections due to disenfranchisement.

🌟Irene encourages everyone to sign the pledge because “we need a voice from the outside to speak on our behalf.” Under IL law, Irene cannot vote.

You can Vote in Her Honor by visiting ILARJ.org/pledge and letting Irene and other incarcerated women know that when you cast your vote in the upcoming election, you are also doing it for them.

You vote. She counts. Take the pledge 🩷 link in bio - you do not have to live in IL

Another powerful Saturday Morning Forum at the Rainbow PUSH Coalition! 🗳️

As we continue our push toward the midterm elections, this weekend’s conversation reminded us that voter education is just as important as voter participation!

A special thank you to Judge Krista D. Butler, Judge Nichole Patton, and Judge Steven G. Watkins for joining us and helping our community better understand the role of our judges, the responsibilities they carry, and why these positions matter so much in our everyday lives.

We also extend our gratitude to Stevie Valles, CEO of @chicagovotes, for providing essential voter education and reminding us of the power we hold when we make our voices heard at the ballot box.

Thank you to Cameron Barnes, Rainbow PUSH National Youth Director, for sharing his vision for the upcoming GOTV tour, highlighting critical states where voter engagement and turnout will be essential this election season.

And certainly, a heartfelt thank you to Rev. Janette Wilson for providing the wisdom, perspective, and direction we need as we navigate the challenges facing our country and our world. Her words reinforced why exercising our right to vote is so important, especially during this consequential midterm election season.

The message was clear: Every election matters. Every position matters. Every vote matters.

We’re not just encouraging people to get to the polls. We’re working to ensure they understand the power of their vote and the impact it can have on generations to come.

Thank you to everyone who joined us! The work continues, and November 3rd is right around the corner!
