Last night was nothing short of magical at the International Tea Day Gala 🍵✨ I could not be more proud of my incredible friend @chichibeing, co-founder of the Institute of Tea Culture and Global Dialogue behind this extraordinary evening. Seeing her vision come to life was inspiring. It truly was a “haven for the heart” - a beautiful celebration of tradition, connection, and cross-cultural conversation. A latergram from a few weeks ago - a lovely catch up meal with friends that included @chichibeing - who is a total dynamo! @mott32van is famous for their Peking duck (their wrappers are the best around). But it’s the quality of the other dishes that allow you to build a proper meal that is a measure of a Chinese kitchen. The roasted pork belly, hot and sour XLB, Kung Pao prawns were all superb. There is a tightness and sharpness of execution throughout their menu - reflecting an deeply experienced kitchen crew. Always a treat to eat delicious things with good people! #thefoodbot #notsponsored #vancouver #chinesefood #pekingduck

On Tuesday morning, I attended the Capilano University Foundation We Believe Breakfast celebrating the great impact of and raising funds for the Paul & Catherine Dangerfield Women's Bursary to support self-identifying women studying at Capilano University. It was my second year attending this event and supporting this great cause. It was an honour listening and talking to Hon. Janet Austin at this event. Hon. Austin has inspired me through her tireless commitment to public service, community engagement, and her work as the former Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia and CEO of YWCA Metro Vancouver. It was also a pleasure listening to and connecting with the 2025 recipient of the Paul & Catherine Dangerfield Women’s Bursary, Tina Salasel. You're an inspiration to all of us, Tina. I can't wait to celebrate all your accomplishments. Thank you @cmaryann.booth for the invitation and your continued support. It was great sharing the table with you and the other inspiring individuals.

As the #16DaysofActivism Against #GenderBasedViolence begins on Nov. 25, our community came together for a meaningful event hosted by @vancouverpubliclibrary and #HerPower. Nearly 200 people attended as a dozen women shared powerful stories of resilience - including former MLA Jane Shin. Through sales of AStrongerHome, we’re able to donate $700 to the @ywcavan, bringing total donations from the book since its publication in May to over $5,300 in support of women and children in our community. Thank YOU so much for everyone’s support. Also lovely seeing many former colleagues including @routledge_janet, @rohiniarora.bc, @georgechowbc and @alexaloo_richmond supporting this meaningful cause! 安信 @anxincommunitysavings is also one of the proud supporters of this important event! （note: some friend decided to purchase more copies so we just got more donations! Thank you! 🙏🙏🙏)

As a first time director, it was a dream come true to see our film on the big screen! If you enjoyed it, please VOTE for The Prop Master’s Dream for Best Short people’s choice ! Link in bio or copy: VAFF.org/vote Despite the festival’s many tech issues, we received SO many positive comments from viewers, with many saying they wanted the film to be longer, to learn more about the opera , & asking where to see a live show! The narrator rapping in Cantonese was also a huge hit :) Thank you all for cheering us on! #diversityinfilm #thepropmastersdream #cantoneseopera #chinatownstories #vaff #vaff29
