Almost 9 weeks ago now, the Eaton Fire tore through our beloved neighbourhood, affecting so many, in so many terrible ways. For myself it was not only losing a home but the studio I had been slowly building during my time in Altadena. The years of slowly acquiring gear and funds to build not only a musical haven for me, but for friends, writers and artists alike...

Yes, it hurts at times, and yes! other days I am overly apathetic to it just being "one of those things". However, I am glad for that time and fortunate to have made songs and music there that have made some laugh, some feel joy, paid mine and others bills and made some cry (terrible songs will do that heh). I know new doors will be, and are, opening as other close etc etc, but here are a few rubbish photos to document this little version of one dream's birth and demise... now onto the next one :)

Today Altadena Cooks Chiara’s Oxtail Ragu, and it is a thing of beauty.

Chiara Triska, 47, moved to Altadena in 2021. She works as a Casting Producer, designs jewelry, & enjoys crafting, cooking, hiking, & pickle ball among other hobbies.

“I’ve always loved to cook, & food is […] so much a part of my upbringing […] I miss my Altadena kitchen immensely as I spent so much time there. I’d love to contribute to something that brings together like minded people & creates a bond with the existing community.”

Last week we toasted my Dad on his 80th birthday. Thanks to the contributions of many and the attendance of a wonderful array of people, from near and far, the celebration was a magnificent and heartwarming affair; worthy of the legendary Milton.
May we all be as lucky as my father, to not only be full of spunk in our 8th decade of life, but to also be surrounded by a community with deep ties, immense love and endearing generosity.
