“How did you know?”

If there’s one thing this union has taught me, it’s the importance of patience.

I’ve always had faith that God would provide the right person for me, but I’d be lying if I said there weren’t moments when I wanted to force situations that I knew weren’t right. Moments when I asked, “God, when is it going to be my time?”

But the more I let go, the more I focused on becoming ready for that time, the more I allowed God to put the pieces together without me getting in the way of my own blessing.

There truly couldn’t have been a better time for us to meet. That’s what makes it so crazy. We found each other when we least expected it, when we were both okay with being alone, content with who we were, and no longer searching but still open to what God had for us.

And God did what He does best.

People ask me all the time, “How did you know?”

One reason is simple: she had so much of what I had always prayed for in a partner.

But even more than that, I knew being with her would align me with my purpose, strengthen my faith, and bring me closer to God not further away from Him.

Sometimes the blessing isn’t late.

Sometimes God is just preparing you for the right time to receive it.

And I’m grateful I didn’t get in the way of His timing. 🤍

Man… what a year. A lot of growth, a lot of lessons, a lot of wins, and a lot to be grateful for.

Year one of my 30s definitely set the tone, and the goal is still the same: make this the best decade yet.

11 years ago I heard about you... didn’t think much of it. Crazy how God works by using different people just to put us in the same room.

Trying to explain this still gives me a mix of excitement and slight anxiety… because I’m not sure words really do it justice. How do you explain seeing 10 years ahead with someone after just 10 days? They say “when you know, you know”... but for me it was knowing God was in the center of it.

From your “non-negotiables” describing me to a tee, to us having so much in common we constantly saying “you just trying to be like me” The feeling of real alignment. No confusion, no guessing, just clarity, and consistency. When we are together we don’t even need to chase excitement it just shows up, no matter what we’re doing.

You’re a light that never dims, yet somehow you always make sure my light shines too. You’ve been a reminder not to settle. To keep God at the center. To pay attention to the fruit, not just the words.

There’s real beauty in doing things the right way. Letting patience do what passion usually rushes, and building something that feels just as good in the waiting.

Still figuring out how to tell this story the right way… but I know it’s one I’m grateful for every day. I went from thinking “you’re too good to be true”... to just accepting that God is truly working in our lives and that is something I’m always grateful for.
