A psychology professor locks his family away in a high-rise apartment after his daughter’s murder - only to realise no one inside can be trusted.

Lilith, the award-winning psychological thriller from writer and director Dale Crawford, is drawn from real-life cases of folie à famille: a contagious psychosis shared by an entire family.

On Thursday 29 October, Dale joins Screen Presence at the Chinese Museum for an intimate conversation about bringing Lilith to the screen - from concept to completed feature, directing a psychological thriller, and the creative and practical realities of making a film independently, alongside cinematographer Rudi Siira and producer Robert Chuter.

Emerging filmmaker, film student, or just love bold Australian cinema? This one’s for you.

So you’ve got a script. Now what? 🎬

On Thursday 29 October, Screen Presence is sitting down with writer and director Dale Crawford to unpack how his award-winning indie psychological thriller, Lilith, went from a script inspired by real cases of shared family psychosis to a finished film out in the world.

No generic advice, no glossy success story. Just an honest look at the messy, practical reality of independent filmmaking - developing the script, directing on set with DP Rudi Siira and producer Robert Chuter, and what it actually takes to get a feature across the finish line.

Whether you’re in the middle of your own project, studying screen, or just love bold local cinema, come through and bring your questions.
