We’ll be joined by @chitownbio scientist + professor Dr. Andy Scarpelli for a hands-on nature hunt uncovering real-life “superpowers” that help plants and wildlife thrive along our shoreline. Then, we’ll put our own superpowers to work with a family-friendly beach clean-up in support of the @alliance4greatlakes

📍Montrose Beach
September 20 • 10-11:30am
🌱All are welcome

Come get a little sandy, learn something new and leave the beach a little better than we found it.

Part of our monthly Little Oak family meet-ups launched during @chiclimateweek — getting kids outside, connecting families + discovering some of the wonderful people and organisations caring for our planet and city.

So excited to share that I'll be teaching the Mushrooms 101 workshop at ChiTownBio again on Saturday, June 27th, from 2-4pm.

Come learn and practice every step in the mushroom cultivation process and take home a mushroom grow kit and a jar of grain spawn of your very own! You can grab a ticket using the QR code or the link in my bio!

This is also a great opportunity to ask me any questions you might have about mushroom-based composite materials and biomaterials more broadly. Always happy to chat about my studio process. Check out my Instagram page to see some of my gallery work.
