I’m OBSESSED with this set 😍🖤

This is exactly why choosing a lash map based on the eye shape is SO important!

A cat eye doesn’t work for every eye. Sometimes the outer corners need shorter lengths because the natural lashes are too short, the eye shape is slightly downturned, or the natural lashes grow too straight to support the length you want to create.

In those cases, a kitten eye or doll eye might be a much better choice to enhance the eyes instead of making them appear droopy.

But with this client? I knew immediately that a cat eye would be PERFECT for her eye shape. Her natural lashes were also long enough to create the length I wanted at the outer corners, which made this set even more exciting to create. 😮‍💨🔥

And the result? EXACTLY what I had envisioned! 🖤

This is why I’ll always say that lash mapping is about more than just choosing lengths. It’s about understanding the eye, the natural lashes and what will actually enhance your client’s features.

Today I had this lovely lady coming in for a Medusa set and we couldn’t choose between a cat eye and a doll eye😱

I created this video to show the world that the form of a set actually MATTERS!
Because the difference is HUGE 💥 as you can see!

Lash Tech or Lash Artist? 🤍

Let me start by saying that one is not better than the other. Both have their own skills, qualities and specialties. The difference lies mainly in the approach and the knowledge applied during a treatment.

✨ A Lash Tech

A lash tech focuses on professionally applying lash extensions. This includes clean isolation, proper attachment, good retention and creating the look the client desires. Whether it’s a classic one by one, hybrid or a full volume set, a lash tech focuses on delivering a beautiful and professional result.

✨ A Lash Artist

A lash artist looks beyond the application itself. They consider the client’s eye shape, natural lashes, curl, length, mapping, texture and the overall look that suits the individual. The goal is to create a set that is not only beautiful but also customized to the unique features of each eye.

This doesn’t mean every lash tech works the same way, or that every lash artist has the same level of knowledge. Everyone has their own approach, and that’s what makes our industry so interesting. 🤍

There is a difference between a lash tech and a lash artist, and both are valuable. 🤍

A lash tech focuses on mastering the application techniques, creating beautiful sets through proper isolation, placement, and styling.

A lash artist takes customization a step further. We look at the client’s eye shape, natural lashes, and personal features to determine what suits them best.

Every curl, length, and mapping is chosen intentionally, and we can explain to our clients why we believe a certain choice is more suitable for them.

It’s not about one being better than the other. It’s about the depth of customization and understanding behind every decision. 🤍
