I FUCKING LOVE PEOPLE WHO MAKE BIG DREAMS FEEL NORMAL. 🖤

Probably because I’ve spent most of my adult life around people who refuse to accept “that’ll do.” 😂

From my time in the military to coaching athletes, building a gym, and helping people become stronger versions of themselves, one thing has always stood out…

The people you surround yourself with will either raise your standards or lower your expectations.

I love being around people who think bigger, work harder, back themselves and aren’t afraid to look a bit daft chasing something most people wouldn’t even attempt.

And no, you don’t have to be an elite athlete, a millionaire or some motivational guru who gets up at 3am to drink mushroom juice. 🤣

You just need a goal, a bit of courage, and the willingness to put the work in when nobody’s watching.

That’s what I want my community to be about. Not just lifting weights, but building people who believe they’re capable of more.

Because sometimes all it takes is being around the right people to realise that the thing you thought was impossible might actually be your next target.

Dream big. Do the work. Surround yourself with people who make ambition feel normal.

And if your goals sound a bit mental to everyone else?

Good. You’re probably talking to the wrong crowd. 🫡🔥

THREE YEARS. ONE REP. 180KG. 🦍

Three years ago, I could deadlift 240kg for sets of 3–5 reps.

Then my back and spine started to deteriorate, and everything changed.

Hospital visits. Days off work. Weeks spent lying in bed. Hobbling around in constant pain. There were times I struggled to do the most basic things.

I lost feeling in my left calf and my right quad. Training, something that had been part of my life for as long as I can remember, became something I could barely do.

I went from pulling 240kg for reps to struggling with anything over 100kg.

I was even offered surgery through the NHS, but the recovery process and the potential time away from training were things I had to seriously consider.

Ultimately, I made the decision to focus on rebuilding.

Slowly. Patiently. One step at a time.

No magic fix. No overnight transformation. Just learning about my body, understanding how I move, managing my limitations and gradually building strength again.

And today, I pulled 180KG for a single.

Is it my personal best? No.

Does it mean more to me than some of the biggest lifts I’ve ever done? Absolutely.

Because I know exactly what it took to get here.

The human body is an incredible thing. Given the right stimulus, appropriate recovery, nutrition, patience and an understanding of how to train around your limitations, we can make progress that once seemed impossible.

I’m not saying every injury can be fixed through training, or that surgery is never necessary. Every situation is different.

But I am saying this: never underestimate the power of rebuilding.

Three years ago, I couldn’t imagine being back here.

Today, 180kg is back on the bar.

And this is just another chapter in the journey.

THE COMEBACK ISN’T ALWAYS ABOUT LIFTING MORE. SOMETIMES, IT’S ABOUT GETTING BACK WHAT YOU THOUGHT YOU’D LOST.

Who’s currently rebuilding after an injury or setback? Drop a comment. I’d love to hear your story. 👊
