Our relationship with plants is not something new to learn, but something very old to remember 🌿⁠
⁠
One of the most beautiful days of our Glastonbury Pilgrimage was spent at the @apothecarygardensomerset with the wonderful @chloeisidora, slowing down enough to meet the plants differently.⁠
⁠
We communed with lemon balm, yarrow, chamomile, lavender, feverfew and lady’s mantle — touching, smelling, listening and learning.⁠
⁠
We explored traditional plant wisdom, worked with beautiful copper stills, distilled plants and experienced the simple magic of creating botanical medicine together.⁠
⁠
It was tactile. Earthy. Sensory. Human.⁠
⁠
In a world where we can access almost endless information about plants, there is something quite different about actually being with them.⁠
⁠
Taking a nap with them in the sun⁠
Smelling the leaves.⁠
Watching the distillation process.⁠
Sharing stories around a table.⁠
Remembering that humans have lived in relationship with the plant world for thousands of years.⁠
⁠
Chloe brought so much knowledge, warmth and beauty to this day, and it was a joy to have her join us as one of our guest facilitators. She is also the creatrix behind the gorgeous @mymoonpower botanical oils 🌹 — another expression of her relationship with plants and cyclical wisdom.⁠
⁠
For me, this is part of what Rooted in the Old Ways is really about.⁠
⁠
Not trying to recreate the past.⁠
Not transcending our humanity in search of something more “spiritual”.⁠
⁠
But remembering how to be in relationship — with the land, the plants, our bodies, one another…⁠
and perhaps becoming a little more authentically human again. 🌿⁠
⁠

I’ve just returned from our third year bringing Sauli temple garments to Heart of the Rose.

And each year, it feels like another deepening into the spiral 🌀

Three years ago, when I first came to Heart of the Rose, I knew only a couple of sisters, both through the online world. I had spent so much of my life abroad that many of the women closest to my heart lived in different corners of the world.

Three years later, I feel so much gratitude for how many sisters this festival has gifted me.

Sisterhood that has deepened through all the seasons of life.

Women who are creating, dreaming, leading, nurturing, building, mothering, holding spaces and bringing their visions into the world.

Women pour their love, time, energy, creativity and gifts, often asking for so little in return.

What moves me most is how we show up for one another.

How one woman’s expansion becomes an invitation for another to expand.

How we celebrate each other.

How we hold each other through the hard seasons, remind each other of our dreams and call each other forward to shine.

There is something incredibly powerful that happens when women gather.

We weave a giant web.

A web of love that is weaving a more beautiful New Earth.

@the_kindest_thing 🌹 thank you for pouring so much of your heart, soul and love into Heart of the Rose, for making your vision a reality brining so many of us together. What you have created is rippling far and wide.

And to all my sisters, thank you for being you. For keeping your hearts open, even and especially amongst the hardship. For inspiring me, challenging me, witnessing me, celebrating me and walking beside me through it all.

As I prepare to leave England next week for my next adventures, I feel so much gratitude for this land where I was born, for the roots it has given me and for all the sisters who have become part of my journey here.

What a gift it is to share this life together 🥹🤍

ANCIENT AVALON
Glastonbury Sacred Feminine Pilgrimage

day one —
sound journey at the abbey
opening circle + Magdalene teachings under the most beautiful tree
prayer + contemplation at the Magdalene Chapel

the idea for this pilgrimage came to me during a sound bath at Pyramids of Chi earlier this year, in Jan:

an archetypal pilgrimage through the different faces of the feminine.

each day, meeting a different archetype.
exploring her.
learning from her.
remembering her.
embodying her.

on our first day,
we met the Magdalene.

her way of devotion.
her courage to walk in truth.
her unwavering faith.
her deep, grounded knowing of self.
her wisdom of medicine, anointing + healing.

and then, midway through our sharing, a woman named Mary appeared with her dog…
whose name was Sophia.

on the day of the Magdalene!!

yesterday, I heard something that stayed with me:

before you say yes to the journey,
you own the journey.

once you step into it,
the journey owns you.

that’s one of the things I love most about pilgrimage.

I can plan the route.
choose the places.
prepare the teachings.

and then something else begins to happen:

the pilgrimage starts speaking back.

and as the cherry on top, @crepesbyjustin happened to be in Glastonbury that very Sunday — the ONE food experience I was most excited to share with my friends. 😋

Women from around the world are answering the call to their Divine Feminine voice.

I had the most beautiful experience speaking at the Present Day Priestess Summit today!

The path of the Present Day Priestess is not hidden away in ancient temples. It is as real as you are.
The truth is, not all of us use the word “priestess” after our name. (me!)

But what we all have in common is devotion.

This event is about empowering you to fully find the voice of the divine feminine that is unique to you. We are each devoted to something that has changed and shaped our lives, and have been initiated through challenges and coming into our power, our true voices.

Today’s experience moved me.

In my session, 🌿Facilitating Ceremony: The Path as a Sovereign Woman we talked about what it means to maintain your personal sovereignty. And the sacred initiations that inevitably show up once you declare your mission. Learn what it means to be devoted to your truth. Sometimes standing in your sovereignty means being the “sparkly sheep” and sometimes losing people, but you will never lose yourself!

This Summit is hosted by @annwynavalon and she’s a powerful space holder!

A week ago today we were landing back after one of the most incredible gatherings of creatives, makers, musicians, visionaries and beautiful humans at @medicinefestival ✨

It was such an honour for Gabriel Soul Kitchen to take part in our very first year of trading, alongside phenomenal food traders, nourishing everyone with vibrant food, electrolyte drinks, tonics and plenty of soul.

And wow… our Bibimbap went down an absolute storm. 🤎
Short-grain brown rice, pickled shiitake, seaweed salad, fried egg and braised tofu, topped with gochujang dressing and fresh coriander salsa.
Thank you @essentialtrading and @clearspringuk for supplying the best organic produce!

Seeing so many of you return, bring friends, share kind words and stop for a chat made it incredibly special.

We even had wonderful musicians serenading us while we cooked and served, turning Gabriel Soul Kitchen into its own little corner of festival magic. 🎶✨

A huge thank you to everyone who ate with us, supported us and made our first Medicine Festival such a success.

And to our incredible Gabriel Soul Kitchen team: what a journey. Behind every bowl were long days, early mornings, late nights, endless prep, cooking, carrying, laughing and problem-solving. None of this would have been possible without you. ❤️

To our fellow food traders,what a beautiful community. So much support, generosity and encouragement, with everyone genuinely wanting one another to succeed. I love, love, love that this kind of community exists.

A special thank you to @jossaej , Lucy and Zack for holding the food trader line so impeccably and always going above and beyond. You are the real legends. 🙏🏼
