It’s my birthday!
My wish is for you to play my music on rotation and watch the movies that I’m in.
Ngl this year has been filled with loss and heartbreak. But I’m grateful for my fans, friends and family. Thank you all for the birthday wishes!
PS please don’t ask me how I feel about getting older. I’ll just send you that cut scene of Joey on his birthday in Friends

🔊Jay-Z - Show Me What You Got (DJ Chops Remix)

Released in 2006 as the lead single from Kingdom Come, “Show Me What You Got” marked Jay-Z’s return to solo rap after his brief retirement. The version featured here is a remix by @chopsmusic , originally a member of the Philly underground hip-hop group Mountain Brothers.

🔊 Bahamadia Feat. Chops, Planet Asia & Rasco – Special Forces

BB Queen @queenbahamadia 👑 brings a hard-hitting posse cut from her second project BB Queen. Produced by @chopsmusic of the Mountain Brothers, another key figure in Philly’s underground Hip Hop scene, the track also brings together @caliagentno.1 , @planetasiamedallions and @djrevolution .

Bahamadia kicks things off with her signature calm, effortless flow, followed by Planet Asia, Rasco and Chops taking turns on the mic. Their rugged styles create a dope contrast with her laid-back delivery, while DJ Revolution’s cuts give the whole track that classic ’90s East Coast Hip Hop feel.

As I get closer to production for season two of @gabbysmashes I’m reflecting on the journey it took to get here. 💗 It was nine years ago this month that we shot the pilot and I had no idea then that this project would make such a big impact on my life. I’ve learned so much since then not only as a performer and writer, but as a producer and understanding the amount of work, dedication, and commitment that’s required to bring your art to life.

I’m incredibly grateful for everyone that’s been a part of this journey! Our seed&spark donors, the cast and crews and producers from the pilot and season one, and to the community supporters that have helped the project move forward along the way. Thank you for believing in me and in this little project that started out as a rant/love letter to my work in nonprofits and to the city of Portland. It’s because of your support that we’ve made it this far. 💖

As we get closer to production of season two, we’ll be going down memory lane and sharing some of our favorite moments that helped shape the show! If you’d like to support season two to ensure we can produce a successful production, visit gabbysmashes.com/donate! 💵

🔊Mountain Brothers - Paperchase

#1998hiphopalbums
Mountain Brothers - Self, Volume 1
