Full video in our bio 👑 Yesterday was a bittersweet day. It was my honor to have had the opportunity to serve as your Miss HBCU Teen 2022. My Reign has pushed me out of my comfort zone in so many ways. I entered as a senior in high school, full of hope but little experience. I have had to overcome many periods of self doubt, anxiety, and overall unsureness of how to fulfill my title, as both Miss Tennessee and as Miss HBCU Teen. BUT, Despite the challenges, I confidently say that this experience has changed me into a better woman.

I’ve learned that there is no shame in struggling. It doesn’t mean that you are not confident and unfit for the position, it means that you are human. And the lessons that you learn in the face of adversity, will turn out to be the most transformational. Throughout my journey, I’ve learned how to be perseverant, how to lean on my support system when I need help, and most of all how to trust myself. I realized that I was more than capable of doing things that scared me. I put trust into my talents and skills and recognized the true value of what I can do. I also learned how to let loose and have fun! I realized that I was putting a lot of pressure on myself to be “perfect” when all I had to do was be myself.

To the next queen, I encourage you to stay authentic and enjoy this journey. You have been blessed with an amazing opportunity so treasure every moment. I still remember the moment I was crowned and Queen Aarin told me “Your life is gonna change, Queen” and she was not wrong! Your life is going to change but for the better.

To all the organizers of this pageant, (especially Mr. Darrell and Ms.Jessika), my Queen Liaison Sherdell, my friends and family, my Mother, and to my scholarship donors Dr. Crosse & Christopher Gaines.

A HUGE thank you to everyone that has supported me throughout this journey. The love received from my community made a huge impact on me and I hope I have made you all proud.

And lastly, thank you God because without you none of this is possible.

It has been my greatest pleasure to serve as Miss HBCU Teen 2022.
With love and gratitude,
