The Coach Dave Schuman, I.C.O.N. Legendary Voice Of The Huskies, Best of the Best, Joe D'Ambrosio, and I are here for Husky Huddle.

This week is electric — an episode Husky Nation lives for. We dissect UConn’s big road victory over Southern Mississippi, felt less like an upset, more of a declaration: the Huskies are improving.

🔥 What We Dive Into
A Complete Team: We focus on how UConn controlled the game physically, mentally, and schematically. From the opening drive, the Huskies looked confident, prepared, and ready to punch first.

Kaleb Osborne’s Growth: We highlight Osborne’s poise — how he managed the offense, made smart decisions and delivered. His command is becoming the backbone of this team. Joe D agrees with me that having him throw 30 passes a game is a solid amount where he will be comfortable.

The Run Game Comes Alive: UConn’s ground attack finally looked like the weapon fans have been waiting for. Joe D explains why — Cyncir Bowers, Kenji Christian ran hard, didn't dance, got downhill north and south. Trey Cornist only had 6 carries, he is a different type of weapon they can utilize, and I think they will have packages for. Osborne only ran 7 times, which we liked so he is protected.

Defensive Identity: We like how the defense set the tone early, flying around, tackling, and forcing. We talk how this unit made adjustments after Maryland, caused turnovers. Joe D pointed out he would take the ball every time winning the coin toss, having faith in the offense.

Coaching & Adjustments: Coach Schuman and I dig into the game plan — changes improvements, and how players were put in positions to succeed. Joe D brings up special teams, an important aspect that can be overlooked, we were excellent.

This wasn’t just a road win. It was a statement. UConn Football is building — toughness, identity, attitude.

We provide the best coverage, with top talent. Nobody in the free world knows UConn Football, the history, players, bowl games, besides Coach Baylock, then Joe D. He is an attraction, the best broadcaster, most knowledgeable talent who we are lucky to have on our team. Best of the Best, Joe D!

Bloodlines and Betrayal 📱

The Coach Dave Schuman argue, fight, yell, banter over the controversial verdict in the Lindsay Clancy case. Information released about the juror who people are angry about NBC10 in Boston doxxing. Many believe he is a hero, a crowd funding thing was set up for him and over 50K dollars was raised.

I argued with Dave about the law, not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect. Dave said it was a premeditated killing of 3 children, she’s guilty. We debate what does he think would constitute as insanity. If what she did isn’t a mental health disorder, I don’t know what is. She saw therapists, was on 13 different medications or tried 13 different ones to find a combination that worked. She was instituted at an impatient mental health facility, called the suicide hotline twice. Her actions are unspeakable and by morality standards, yeah put her in the chair and throw the switch. Legally, when her ex husband, in-laws testify Clancy as a great mother, loving, caring, and she had postpartum depression, psychosis. She took away her ex husband’s kids, the family, and they wouldn’t give damaging testimony. The medical experts were all terrible besides Dr Lopasada. I told Dave, as men, we have no idea what she was going through. I understand why there was a mistrial. We don’t know if they will have a new trial . A polarizing, explosive episode.

Momma Higgins is back after so much going on. We get her to discuss life after Owen being gone, along with a special visit. More importantly, we are here for Honesty Lost.

In this powerful episode, Momma Higgins finally returns after a long stretch away — and there’s a lot to unpack. Erika opens up about life after Owen being gone and our most recent visit. The conversation goes beyond a simple update. It becomes a full exploration of parenting, identity, boundaries, and the emotional recalibration that happens when your oldest child leaves home.

With Owen gone, the Higgins household feels different:
Jack (15) suddenly becomes the oldest at home, stepping into a new role with expectations. Laser focused on soccer, a sophomore goalie on varsity is a huge accomplishment. Jack never settles; he is fighting to start or get playing time.

Reid (9) thrives in a more structured environment. He plays football, Pete coaches and Reid does his best. I loved watching his favorite YouTube shorts and him play videogames.

🟧 Parents Who Try to Be Their Kids’ Best Friend
A strong parts is Erika’s take on modern parenting — especially the trend of parents trying to be their kids’ best friend instead of the adult in the room.

She breaks down:

Why kids don’t need another friend — they need a parent.

How being “the cool parent” often backfires.

The difference between being supportive and soft.

Why structure, expectations, and consequences are paramount.

Erika explains that kids feel safer when adults act like adults — when boundaries are clear, routines are consistent, and respect is taught, not assumed.

🟩 Setting Boundaries — The Hardest Part of Parenting
We dive into the significance of boundaries

Saying “no” even when it’s uncomfortable.

Holding firm when kids push back.

Teaching respect through consistency, not lectures.

How boundaries shape character, confidence, and emotional stability.

Erika shares examples from her own home — moments where she was the tough one, structured, the parent who didn’t bend.

The time has arrived for UConn Football's season to begin. A dedicated coaching staff with a perfect combination of experience, youth, and achieving success. Coach Candle has a proven record of winning. Actions speak louder than words, and Coach Candle talks, his team's performance handles the rest. Saturday, we start another journey.

Dave Schuman, a force of nature as a former UConn football player, a success story who pioneered camps that every college uses today. One day, combine testing, position drills, then one on ones, 7 on 7, Dave started this before anyone. Nobody works harder and is more creative developing new ways to train kids. When you have been a coach, it never leaves. Coach Schuman runs a travel 7 on 7 league, coaches his son's team, camps working with girls, teaching football, starting a flag league for more opportunities. Dave ran events each week over the summer, as The Speed Doctor, revolutionized cutting edge progressions to increase how fast kids run, and with data, metrics.

I say all of this because as busy as Coach Schuman is, he created the best website for UConn sports, and we will make it our home for UConn Football. We have outstanding Facebook groups helping to keep alumni and fans together. I think we can incorporate our groups and have a home at Husky Hub. This site has it all, news, articles, recruiting information, blogs, message boards, where I write and everyone can participate.

What separates us, is we give BEST coverage and CONTENT, with legendary personalities. Joe D'Ambrosio is by far the greatest broadcaster in Connecticut history, the I.C.O.N. Voice of the Huskies. His knowledge, experience with football, basketball, baseball is unmatched. A special, generational talent, he does play by play, color for UConn Volleyball, SoccHockey. Miraculously, he is on our team, 3 years now, talking UConn Football on Husky Huddle beginning this week.

The Coach Dave Schuman, the I.C.O.N Legendary Voice of The Huskies Joe D, and some guy named Cully return on Husky Huddle, best coverage, insight, analysis, of UConn Football. Husky Hub can be our home for alumni, fans. Check it out, become a member at http://huskyhub.net
