POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A gorgeous night at the @literacy_trust gala that raised over £200,000 to fund the incredible work that they do bringing joy and life-changing benefits of reading to children and adults📚📚📚And it was extra special to be there as a guest author during the National Year of Reading! The night was full of inspiring speeches and readings, including one by @angiethomas, a spirited live auction, and moving testimonials about the power of books. The @premierleague is one of the NLT partners and supporters so as an added bonus we got to see and take a photo with the Premier League trophy which was very exciting 🏆and of course I had to scamper around taking selfies with the amazing authors and illustrators who were there to support☺️
And I am very sure that our table, the @simonkidsuk table, was the most fun one in the room🙌

📚✨ Happy World Book Day from Zozimus Drama! ✨

Today is all about celebrating the magic of stories and the characters that jump off the page and into our imaginations.

From mischievous characters like those in The Twits by Roald Dahl, to hilarious adventures like Kid Normal by Greg James and Chris Smith, books give children a chance to explore incredible worlds and unforgettable characters.

At Zozimus Drama, we love bringing stories to life through imagination, play and performance. Because when children step inside a story, they don’t just read it — they become part of the adventure.

So today we’re celebrating the power of books, creativity, and a little bit of dramatic fun! 🎭📖

What character has your child come dressed as today?

Last week we had a truly wonderful occasion, with our newly created library opening, supported by @literacy_trust and officially opened by Her Majesty, The Queen. @theroyalfamily

Our once lonely cabin had a wish... see how our children bring alive the words for the cabins new lease of lease! Written by Ross Fox.

A Lonely Cabin Makes a Wish

Did you hear that story one time
About a cabin so unloved.
A home for untroubled cobwebs
And boxes of nothing but dust.

Oh how it longed to be seen,
And dreamed of being more than it was.
But nobody wanted the cabin
Because it wasn't terribly clean.

Well what do you know but
One night,
As moon-bathed London slept,
it muttered almost silently
A hope that it wished would ignite.

I can be more than a cabin, it said.
I want to be more than I am.
A home for the children
A space to relax
That is my brilliant plan.
Fill me with books and I'll show you
How wonderful reading can be
When you start a story
in a cosy place
full of tigers who come to tea.

Well something magic did happen.

Because in less than a year,
That cabin untouched
Went from being obscene,
To a beautiful library
Fit for Camilla our Queen.

And now the children wait to enter,
the library holds its breath.
The characters are ready for adventures and...
probably untimely death.

Stories of life, love and joy,
Football, war and peace.
Books about frogs jumping on logs
And hats being stuck in a tree.
Here in a library just for us,
Thank you NLT.

School libraries are vital to transforming the nation’s relationship with reading, and we’re thrilled that the first school library in the National Year of Reading is now open.

On Wednesday we visited @christchurchnw1 in London to open the first school library in the National Year of Reading as part of the @literacy_trust Libraries for Primaries campaign, co-founded with @penguinukbooks.

The incredible new library is funded by @bloomberg through its Coronation Libraries Project and was opened by Her Majesty The Queen @theroyalfamily.

Four of the inspirational authors and illustrators featured in the school’s new library collection - @tolaokogwu, @chrissmithstagram, @ramzeecreates and @sophyhenn - joined pupils and Her Majesty to go all in on our passions this #NationalYearOfReading2026.

#LibrariesForPrimaries offers hope, and the 500 new books, comics and audiobooks at Christ Church CE Primary School’s library will mean more pupils can Go All In on their passions.

Today we welcomed Her Majesty The Queen (@theroyalfamily), Patron of The National Literacy Trust (literacy_trust) to Christ Church CE Primary School (@christchurchnw1) in London to open the first school library in the National Year of Reading (@go_all_in_2026) as part of our Libraries for Primaries campaign, co-founded with @penguinukbooks.

The incredible new library, funded by @bloomberg through its Coronation Libraries Project, is a vibrant space where pupils can discover magical stories, inspiring ideas and new information through 500 new books, comics and audiobooks connected to their interests and backgrounds.

At today’s opening, which took place during #NationalStorytellingWeek, four of the inspirational authors and illustrators featured in the school’s new library collection – @tolaokogwu, @chrissmithstagram, @ramzeecreates and @sophyhenn – joined pupils and Her Majesty to celebrate the power of stories to inspire, engage and connect us, and to enable us to go all in on our passions this #NationalYearOfReading2026.

We know the impact a positive reading culture can have on children’s lives. We also know from our research that children’s engagement with reading is in steep decline.

Follow the link in our bio to discover the stark facts from our research but also the latest evidence to show how #LibrariesForPrimaries can offer hope ⬆️

Days like this remind me why access to books matters so much. I loved celebrating the opening of Christ Church Primary School’s new library, the first school library to open during the National Year of Reading 2026, alongside Her Majesty The Queen and my wonderful fellow authors Ramzee, Sophy Henn and Chris Smith, as part of the Libraries for Primaries campaign co-founded by the National Literacy Trust and Penguin Books and sponsored by Bloomberg.

I got to speak to a group of pupil librarians and reading ambassadors about the amazing work they are doing in their school libraries and reading spaces and how to showcase that work.

Remember if you’re into it, read into it and go all in!
