Reality is a Point of View: A Resurrection
(1/2 continued in comments)

I am currently resurrecting my first installation—a piece that originally came to life with the help of @christabaca and Greg Baca for my first solo art show, “Reality is a Point of View,” at @notiontulsa
The word notion is defined as a conception of or belief about something. As I bring this piece back to life, I find myself fixing elements that were once flawed due to my disconnection from inner peace and my battles with alcohol and mental health. Back then, Christa and Greg’s conception of my ability came from a place of true belief. I was, and still am, so blessed for that opportunity and for their continued faith in me through the “low times” I brought upon myself.
Looking back, my own belief about that initial success stunned me. My ego slowed me down to a near-complete halt. While I was only supposed to hold the show at Notion for a single year, they continued to believe in me for three full years—opening doors for me to design their menu and constantly encouraging my growth.
I see so many artists and passionate people do what I did: they take a moment of success as a cue to slow down. At the time, I thought I had “arrived.” I treated Notion’s gallery atmosphere as my personal space, sliding by for free coffee or food while only checking in on the “once in a blue moon” sale. It is so easy to mistake a great accomplishment for the finish line. In reality, an accomplishment is just a door of validation; it’s the moment you should start running harder than you ever have before.
For three years, that art sat still in a room, much like I did. I was tired, trying to find balance in a film career while being an artist at the same time, but it wasn’t fulfilling me. I was drinking myself into a victim complex and wondering what was wrong with the world. I wanted to be covered in paint, but I wasn’t doing the work. After hitting rock bottom, I was forced to get my life together. In that process, I found my passion again.

Pastors, here’s the core of tribal wisdom: leadership is a marathon, not a solo sprint.

A trusted tribe shares the load, tests ideas, and protects the soul. When diverse gifts gather with candor, the vision stays sharp, decisions stay faithful, and the church stays healthy.

There is wisdom in a tribe.

Shout out to the incredible @christabaca for bringing Pressing Pause to life through her art.

When we dreamed about this book, we knew the words mattered but something deeper was to be felt, not just read. She took each chapter’s message and turned it into something you can’t scroll past. Something that grabs your soul before your brain catches up.

That’s her gift—she makes you see what your heart has been longing to believe.

We’re so grateful for her talent and generosity in partnering with us on this project. 🙏

Here’s what we’re learning: Sabbath is a full-sensory experience of God. The flicker of candlelight. The warmth of bread. The sound of blessing. God wants us to experience Him in every way.

Your book isn’t content. It’s a credential.

Thought leadership requires proof. A book, a framework, a body of work that says “I’ve done the thinking so you don’t have to.” That’s not ego—it’s service at scale.

No fluff. We build brands with muscle.

i have so much to be thankful for—
not because everything is perfect,
not because every prayer i’ve prayed has been answered…

because they haven’t.

my dad didn’t receive his miracle here on earth.
things i prayed and hoped for over decades never came to pass.
dreams i believed for never unfolded the way i imagined.

and yet, despite the unanswered prayers,
despite the missed miracles,
despite the heartbreak—

God has been good to me.
God has been faithful to me.

i’d be lying if i said the unanswered prayers didn’t leave me hurt, confused, and disappointed.

i can sit here trying to make sense of life & spiral in depression.

or i can choose to believe that even in what i don’t understand,
God is working all things together for my good.

after my dad went to heaven, i remember driving on the freeway,
deep in depression—telling myself, “lindsey, choose joy. because either way, you’re walking through this season. you can walk through it depressed and let it destroy you, or you can choose joy so it protects you and carries you to the other side.”

i don’t know where i’d be (or if i’d even be here writing this)
if i hadn’t chosen joy.

choosing joy is what led me back to thankfulness—
and honestly, it saved me.

these photos are evidence of that joy—
even in the heartbreak.
they’re evidence of redemption,
of God’s goodness,
of God’s faithfulness…

faithfulness to protect my family after loss.
faithfulness to surround me with loved ones who fight for you when you’ve lost all hope.
faithfulness to fill our home with joy even in the middle of grief.
faithfulness to bring new friends and community.
faithfulness to bring adventure back into my life when everything felt dull.

whatever you’re walking through, even when it feels like there’s nothing to be thankful for—trust me: there is.

God’s goodness is something to be thankful for.
the ability to choose joy is something to be thankful for.

so even when you don’t feel like it—choose joy.
choose to be thankful.
it will save you.
it will protect you through the fire seasons.

i promise—there’s light at the end of the tunnel.
you will laugh again.
you will experience uncontainable joy again.

this isn’t the end.

it’s time to fall in love with your life again.
It’s time to adventure.
It’s time to find something to look forward to.
time to quit finding excuses for why you can’t or your shouldn’t.
because you’re the ONLY one in charge of making your life a grand adventure.

there’s a reason why they call it LIFE. It’s for living…and you aren’t dead yet. ✨

My best friend @lindseyeryn lands tomorrow. There will be chaos, strategy sessions galore, laughter, chips & salsa, and exactly zero photos to prove any of it happened.

Is it just me or why don’t best friends ever take any pictures???!!!
