The next few months are going to be a bit of an adventure.

First stop is Hong Kong for the Dragon Run on 7 November 🇭🇰

From there, it’s over to Australia for race week 🇦🇺 Three races and hopefully some very good downwinds, starting with the Downwind International on the 19th, The Doctor on the 21st and finishing with the Fenn West Coast Downwinder on the 28th.

Then it’s back home to South Africa 🇿🇦 and straight into a completely different kind of racing. Lifesaving World Champs in PE from 7–13 December, before finishing off the year with one of my favourites, the Cape Point Challenge on 19 December.

Quite a bit of travelling, a lot of racing and hopefully plenty of good downwinds along the way 🌊

Gonzo Runs Bucketlist: Day 2
Early to rise for our first real day in the French Alps. A stop at the Saturday Market on the way to the train station and we were ready 🥖👊🏻 The run - a beautiful circular easing us in to the altitude and what was to come in the next few days. Glacial lakes, Boinassy Suspension Bridge and a tough climb, made for a well deserved stop at the Buvette at the finish! After baguettes, beers and some rays we headed back to Chamonix, just in time to support our Boys against the All Blacks. Most were tucking into the Guinness and tequilas at the Irish Sports Pub, some were visiting the local hospital @mikehopkinsjnr , and some were enjoying Aperolis in the sun @julzybee ☀️🍹 After, with a win under the belt and what looked like 20 beers deep, we stumbled our way to burgers and bed. It’s a tough life out in the Alps, but someone’s gotta do it!

⚡️Inside the Session: Board relays at Sunset Beach

Three members per team. Each athlete races around a short can, with a spicy sand transition sprint to tag their next teammate.

Well done to the team of Liam, Mouse, and Amica for taking the win on the last relay!

We love seeing how the level always lifts in a team relay when bragging rights are on the line. 😎

No surprises @zack.waters_ had time for a chat. 🫶 Meanwhile the Chix, @jess.allott and @christinamallion were less available for comment. 😂

12°C water, unreal visibility and a proper day in the ocean.

Gonzo Bucket-list Tour: Day 1
The troops arrived (all 24 of them) and what a cool bunch of people - I had a good feeling right down to my toes from the very beginning. No time was wasted as we headed out for our first run, the iconic Petit Balcon Sud. 15 km of fresh and flowy forest trails with sneaky views of the Chamonix valley below. What an intro! But no run is without reward; French pastries from the local French Patisserie and Happy Hour, what a combo! After, a quick glow up and we met for the Welcome followed by the Welcome Dinner - pizzas and beer overlooking the Mont Blanc Massif, what else could you possibly want?
With full bellies and bubbling over with excitement, we hit the hay. If Day One was anything to go by, we were in for an epic week!

The water was warm. The ocean was flat. No waves to chase, no easy metres to find.

Just a full-course of honest hard work.

It was the biggest Oceanwoman start line we’ve seen.

Will Season 3 bring another one?

With R100,000 on the table and some serious prizes from Sealand, there’s plenty of reason to find out.

Gonzo Bucket Runs - Chamonix - Bon Voyage dinner

Our first, lets call it ice-breaker, for the 26 giddy runners off to explore the Chamonix valley under the watchful eye of Mont Blanc in September. We had a fat dinner and a race pack worth its weight in Leprechaun gold. We talked about the routes, the runcation format, @ashlinhealy talked about the social itinerary to ensure we have the absolute best time, while digging into a warm dinner.

With bellies full, we stumbled over to the @asics_za Canal Walk store, where their incredible support made it possible for us to have a seamless shopping experience. 🏃‍♂️🔥
