We’re excited to welcome Christopher Prieto of @primebbq to Praise Church!

Christopher is the 2025 James Beard Semifinalist for Best Chef: Southeast and the champion pitmaster behind MICHELIN Bib Gourmand-awarded Prime Barbecue in Knightdale, NC. He’s also a cookbook author, TV personality, BBQ evangelist, and lover of all things ‘cue.

His journey in barbecue has taken him across the country, from more than a decade on the professional competition circuit to stages including BBQ Brawl, Chopped, BBQ Pitmasters, and Man Fire Food.

But Christopher’s story is about so much more than barbecue. This Sunday, he’ll be sharing his story, his faith, and how God has used something he loves to open doors for relationships and ministry.

Ribs, brisket, cole slaw and more will be on the menu at @southboundfoodfest’s Food and Fire at @sloss_furnaces this Saturday when award-winning and notable pitmasters pull up to put on a spread you will be talking about for some time.

Heck, I’m still in awe of what I experienced last year.

Folks like @michelinguide recognized North Carolina Pitmaster @christopher_prieto (first 2 pics from Prime Barbecue) will be serving his sliced brisket.
