POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A month before we shot rulebook, we brought @jamilacgray and @christopherammanuel in for a chemistry read, where two actors run a scene together to see if the connection is really there.
This was the car/breakup scene. And this was the moment we knew we had something.

Funny watching it back now because it’s the same tone you’ll see in the final cut, but it definitely grew from here.

Shoutout to Jamila and Christopher for bringing it from day one.

Comment “rulebook” if you want to come to a screening.

🎸 INTRODUCING JERICHO SLIM.

Christopher Ammanuel stars as Jericho Slim, a 1920s blues legend whose otherworldly gift came with a dark price rooted in Southern folklore.

Some deals haunt generations.

🩸 Crossroad Blues — a Southern hip-hop horror story of ambition, sacrifice, and the cost of greatness.

Meet Tyrese + Imani.

He wants her back.
She wants to find herself.
Neither one of them wants to completely let go.

What could go wrong?

After years of building a life with Tyrese, Imani is ready to find out who she is without him. The problem is, finding herself doesn’t necessarily mean she stopped loving him.

An artist caught between the man he wants to become and the patterns he inherited. He still loves Imani, but getting her back means learning how to be honest with himself.

There are way too many people to thank for how far this film has come, and not enough tags available for me to add everyone. But to my entire cast and crew, thank you all so much for the time, effort, heart and support you gave this project. I truly cannot thank you all enough. Each of you believed in this piece and this team. That belief is felt through every fiber of this short film.
•
To every investor, thank you for believing in me as a filmmaker and an artist, and trusting me with your resources. They did not go to waste, I’m glad you all get to see that.
•
This short film acts as a Proof of Concept for our feature film that is in early development. So please go watch our film, rate it, and leave a review. All of those interactions will help us in our making of the full film. So if you want more? Help us give it to you!

A year ago today, my incredible team came together and filmed the proof of concept for Darren and Anissa. Now in just 5 short days, you’ll be able to watch it at home thanks to my friends @theblkscript
And I can’t thank God enough for this gift.
•
If you would’ve told me that a year later this project was changing my life forever, I would’ve believed you, because I knew this one was special. From the first key stroke, to the most recent draft, I knew Darren and Anissa was going to be magical. Even when other people didn’t. I’m so blessed that I can say that this team felt the same way too. To my cast and crew, I cannot thank you all enough for bringing my words off that page.
•
To creative team, thank you for seeing my vision, and then elevating it with your own. We made something beautiful that’s going to give life to an even more beautiful piece of art, and I’m eternally grateful.
•
Stream Darren and Anissa on TheBlkScriptNetwork this Friday September 25th! And be sure to watch the credits for a special surprise that wasn’t in the film festival version 👀
