Alright, I’m finally ready for the ‘Johnny & June has closed’ post. To say this show, role and experience was special is an understatement. But there are no proper words to express my immense love for this project & company. I’m overwhelmed by my own soppy, feelings of loss here. (where’s the tough New Yorker? have I been abroad too long?!?!)

I’ve been part of some truly wonderful theatrical experiences over the years, where offstage life is as lovely & fulfilling as on. But this one takes the cheesecake :)
From first read, the project seemed tailor made for me & I’m so happy Des, Ron & the rest of the creative team agreed. (you mean I get to sing country music, be a little silly AND tackle gritty drama!?!?) I’ve always loved this music, these artists, their story & legacy. @junecartercash was so smart, vibrant, multi-talented, joyful, silly & resilient. Stepping in to her shoes was a privilege & a challenge I’ll never take for granted. June’s journey in the show was an all-encompassing one that actors crave. At this point in my life/career, I was longing to really sink my teeth in to a dynamic character & June delivered in every way.

Obviously, I couldn’t have done any of it without my Johnny, @christopherryangrant - a brilliant human, delightful idiot and insane talent who everyone should be so lucky to work with and I’ll leave it at that cuz he’ll already be uncomfortable about these effusive comments.

Everyone in this entire company - sound team, crew, production, band, wham, wardrobe, cast - we all gelled, worked together beautifully & had what would probably be considered TOO much fun.
I really didn’t want to tour again. I really didn’t think it was possible to find another collective group of humans I’d want to spend so much time with. I really didn’t want to do the same job for 8 months. But the universe knew better. I’m so glad I said yes to this opportunity. I’m forever changed & @johnnyandjunemusical will always live in my heart.
