It’s been quite a while since I last did a bookish challenge, but here we are! I kept seeing this fun trend everywhere, and since two amazing girls, @kristinesbookworld and @bookedmybook , tagged me in it a while ago, I felt it was finally time to add my own two cents. 🤭

Not all of these are on my physical bookshelf, the ones I own are mostly fantasy (understandably so 🙈), but I really want to broaden my horizons into other genres like romance and thrillers. A lot of these have been sitting on my Goodreads TBR thanks to everyone's recommendations, and I’m so curious to see if they're actually worth the hype!

What is your favorite way to be supported here on booksta?
We all like Likes but besides that, are comments, reposts, saves or story-shares what means the most to you?

I thought I take the opportunity to talk about about some Do‘s and Don‘ts on this app and what I consider good etiquette. (Althrough that are just opinions and you have to give anything on them.)

✅Do: Like and Share posts you are tagged in.
✅Do: Engage with book reviews even if you might not plan to read this specific book. Review have it hard enough already.
✅Do: If you do a challenge because you were tagged in it, tag or mention the person you got it from. We want to see what you did with it!

❌Don‘t: Ranting negativly about a book someones comments. You can say when you dislike something but that‘s IT. (Rant in the DM‘s with someone who agrees with you, it‘s fun)
❌Don‘t: You really don‘t have to ask someone if you can tag them. Nobody will be mad about it.
❌Don‘t: STEALING CONTENT! You can take inspiration but not entiere pictures or captions.

Sunday Scaries

Late day post for me, but the algorithm hates me so it doesn’t matter when I post 🤣

Hi friends! Happy Thursday! Alas, it's not my friday this week as I'm working tomorrow to provide holiday coverage, but I'm excited and not at all jealous for everyone else getting a short work week this week.

The wonderful lovely strong @micheletigerlily tagged me for a black and gold stack and I was only too happy to do anything she says. I think black and gold might be my second favorite color combo.

So what's everyone's plan for the 4th? It's never been a holiday I've cared much about and I'm watching a friends dogs while she goes on holiday. So I'll be hunkered down with 5 German shepherds, bully sticks, and a loud ass movie because one of them isn't a fan of Fireworks. Maybe I'll rewatch the Matrix or Jurassic Park. Dinos are less scary than fireworks, right? 🤣

If you don't live in the States, lucky you, but what have you got coming up for summer fun?

Hi friends! Ugh, Monday... no medieval Monday today because i dont have one prepared, and I dont have the brain power for it today. Monday is being a Monday, and the extreme heat has me 🫠🫠🫠

So anyway, a dark blue moody Monday stack instead. Please still love me. 🤣

Do you manage to keep your tbr to a readable amount, or are you like me and always wondering how you'll ever read all the books on it? Aka, do you have a physical tbr that could crush you? 😅🤣

Do you ever do a tbr unhaul? I'm debating it, but every time I go to do it, I think, but what if... I somehow win the lottery I never play and could just quit my job and read... 🤣🤣🤣

What drink pairs with your current read?

@camillataipalvesiauthors tagged me forever ago in a Coffe and current read, but taking this pic took me so long it isn‘t even my current read anymore.

I first saw ORIENTING: AN INDIAN IN JAPAN on the page of @aa_cozynooks and thought it would scratch my itch for an interesting nonfiction book, even if I already knew a lot about Japan. And I have to say I love Indian nonfics. While both are in Asia I never saw much overlap between Japan and India. However Pallavi Aiyar explains the relationship between both countries masterfull and also adds China to the trio (a country she herself live in). The writing is lively, personal while also being extremly educational. The topics span from food, history over politics, sanitary and language. I espacially liked the many inclusions of haiku poetry.

While this might be best matched with matcha or even a Chai, I went for a white tea hibiscus drink for this.

For me: To Be Taught If Fortunate by Becky Chambers met my high expectations of her books! Even thought it was my first, I’ve only heard amazing things, and it did not disappoint!
