FUN FACT:

I had a gig 19 days after giving birth to my son.
Do not recommend.

I do, however, recommend listening to The Singer's Guide podcast on Apple Podcasts or Spotify!

We can’t believe it’s nearly been a week since Almost Like A Dance had its first staged presentation!

To Edie, Sandy, Josh, CJ. Trever, Liz & everyone who was a part of the development of this amazing show, we truly thank you for trusting us with this project. It was thrilling to see what could be accomplished in such a short time and loved what we created. And thank you Theatre Raleigh for letting us use their space to tell this story.

To all of our patrons, sponsors, and supporters, we thank you tremendously for your continuous support for new work development. Your generosity is always greatly appreciated!

We can’t wait to share what’s next - stay tuned!

It was such a privilege to work with the @carolina_theater_workshop to explore “Almost Like A Dance” with the most amazing team. @sandyrustin_ has created a beautiful story and script with music from @ediebrickellofficial and her musical partners @carm_band nd Trever Hagen! @jeremybeckmusic did an incredible job guiding the team through changing and stunning music and we all had the privilege of working with @joshrhodes1115 who was one of the most clear and comfortable directors I have encountered! Thank you @cbrady79c, @carolina_theater_workshop, and @theatreraleigh for bringing this kind of new work and art to the triangle.

Planes, trains, and automobiles got me all the way from Québec City, Canada to Utah for #IVACON26. Wow, what a week of joy, singing, and learning with people who get me in ways so few can. I feel so excited about the future of my vocal studio and my vocal ability and progress as a singer/performer. This was the reset I needed so badly. My first trip away from the family (omg, right) made me feel like a new person. I had no idea how much I needed this. Thank you everyone at @vocaladvancement who made me feel like family.

One of the best things of the conference, other than making so many new friends, was meeting and spending time with my favorite teachers in-person for the first time. Love all of you and I can’t wait for next year’s IVACON! 🫶🎶🎤

Reflecting on my time at IVACON this past week, and my heart is just so full. ✨
If you had told me a few years back that I’d be on this path—becoming a vocal coach and getting to work with such amazing people—I wouldn’t have believed you. I am endlessly lucky to have the best mentors in the world. A huge shout-out to @danfabervocalstudio and @emilykristenmorris the incredible IVA teachers who were the very first ones to support and encourage me to take the leap and become a teacher in the first place!
Getting to experience IVACON with my amazing coaches and mentors— @chwils , @singwithlinda , @reneemaranan , and all the other brilliant IVA coaches—was a truly life-changing experience. Learning from them and being inspired by their knowledge was pure magic. The amazing workshops and lectures by incredible professionals @maddietarboxvocalstudio @singingwithchelseastudio
It was a total dream to be surrounded by like-minded people—an entire room of absolute theater and vocal nerds sharing the same passion. I’ve walked away with so much inspiration and a wonderful new group of friends who I can talk to for hours about voice mechanics, theater arts, and everything in between.
Joining IVA this year has been completely transformative. I cannot wait to keep learning, to dig deeper, and to use this knowledge to help my clients unlock their fullest potential. The journey is just beginning! 🎶🎹 @vocaladvancement
