October Eye Candy 👁️🍁👁️

Chasing the peak foliage (and some other stuff in the sky) around southern Maine and northern Westchester this month. All photos my own📱13p.

Is it just me or have the colors of nature been extra special the autumn?

When yoga and golf collide…

Your core stability & balance improve

You increase range of motion & flexibility in the spine

You improve mental focus & help avoid injury

Thanks to all the folks who came out to @pxg in New Rochelle last week - it was such a fun event! Special thanks to @sherrybruck for capturing the evening and to @fredrbruck and @risahoag for the opportunity!

How do YOU incorporate yoga into your game or fitness routine??

Finding balance

Doesn't mean life

Is perfect

So often it means

Learning to exist

In the space of both

Good and bad

Joy and sorrow

Worry and hope

It's risky

It's wonderful

It's letting go

It's daring

It's freeing

It's challenging

That is why it is balance

I’d like to talk for a moment about the “C” word. 😳

Now that I’ve gotten your attention, that’s NOT the word I meant!

Like many of you, every year I choose a word that represents what I hope to manifest more of in my life.

As I was contemplating my word this year, I couldn’t help but reflect on the year that was 2023. Much of 2023 was spent in Caregiving mode (another C word) - taking Care of my mother and helping her navigate her various health Challenges, while trying to keep my small practice afloat AND keep my own health in Check. To say I held on by a thread, is an understatement. I basically spent much of 2023 on autopilot - moving through our (effed up) healthcare system, with as much grace, humor and Compassion that I could muster. There may have been some Contempt for good measure…

Now that my momma is making her way back to a full recovery (thank goodness!), I have time to focus my energy back on me, my business and my life. However, there are parts of me that have been lost in this Caregiving role. I no longer recognize the person I have become and know that there are parts of me that I need to leave behind. There are some Coping mechanisms that are no longer serving me.

The role of a health Coach is to help people overcome their limiting beliefs - the only way to do that, is to become Curious. So this year, I am turning the tables and getting CURIOUS about my own habits, wants and desires.

I’m treating myself like a Client: “If you could wave a magic wand and have the life you want, what would that look like?”

Curious - that is my word this year…along with a variety of other C words: Compassion, Clarity, Creativity

I’m curious - do you have a word (or words) this year?

💜 Cindy

Some random things you may (or may not) know about me:

I am a proud mom to 3 amazing adult daughters. 1 by birth, 2 by blending our beautiful families. Bonus daughters. The word step, anything, makes me cringe.

I am married to my best friend, my business partner & partner in crime. Our motto is work hard/play hard. Rest well.

We both gave up the corporate grind to launch @cindrewsanctuary & fully immerse ourselves into our passion. Of serving others. Me through yoga, meditation & wellness coaching. My hubs @amfritzz with Reiki & numerology.

Daily affirmations have been part of my life forever. I share them for inspiration. Hope.

For the past year, I have been called to serve as one of my moms caregivers. The primary source of support, as she navigates health issues. It’s a GIFT to spend this valuable time with her. Yet I am reminded daily of how quickly time can slip away from us.

I hold on tight, to right now.

We have a cat, Nugget, who hasn't left our second floor since we brought home our rescue, Winston. They watch each other with curiosity - one at the top of the stairs, one at the bottom.
It’s been 10 months. We wait.

I was an only child, up until 10+years ago, where I learned I have 3 siblings & my birth father was alive.

I’ve gotten good at catching curve balls.

I’m a survivor. A badge I now wear with pride, not shame.

Anxiety is a frequent visitor. CPTSD a reminder of abuse.

Some days I just want to sell it all. Travel the country in an RV. The one we don't own, yet.

I crave solitude & love connecting with others.

When I'm not working & doing all the things, my favorite place to be is the woods. Or the beach. With family & friends. In the kitchen, creating.

I HATE hate. Of all kinds.

I believe all people have the right to live in peace. Safely, securely.

Acceptance of differences is how we learn & grow.

Confrontation makes me uncomfortable, yet I ALWAYS speak my mind.

Sometimes I react, rather respond.

I'm working on that. Still.

I am a perpetual learner.

A true Libra.

Constantly striving for peace & a balanced perspective.

Please share something about you!

Shirt reads: Yoga, I'm down dog...

One of these days my feed will go back to promoting my yoga, meditation and health coaching practice @cindrewsanctuary. But right now, I am enjoying the ebb and flow of my steady private and corporate clients AND raising this boy.

Plus he's down for yoga whenever I am!! 😉

You are worth it...

The quiet moment,
the deeper breath.
You are worth the time it takes to slow down, be still and rest.
