My first short film is finally done. I’m beyond excited to get it out and start to work on the next one. I’ve learned so much from making this film and knew if I kept waiting for the perfect moment I’d never make anything. So without further ado here is what I’ve dumped the last about 50 hours into editing.

Wanted to again thank both Austin and Hailey for toughing out the long shoot day we were all exhausted after that. I’d like to thank @bartelsgiantburger for letting us film a portion at their Redding location.

Side note: @cinetemp really helped me to keep an accurate WB and tracking the sun for every shot in this film. It is an absolute must have for any videographer/cinematographer.

Scout the location whenever possible! You’ll find problems and be able to fix them before shoot day. Also, better visualize the shots and get a better end product.

3 things I do when scouting:
• Sun Seeker or Cine Temp app (know where the sun is and will be)
• Take tons of photos and videos
• Artemis app so you know exactly what the camera will see on shoot day

Been using CineTemp on this trip and it’s honestly become one of those little tools I didn’t realize I needed.

Being able to quickly check color temp and plan around the sun when scouting a location makes things way easier.

Less guessing, more time actually creating.
