POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

La selezione attraversa rigenerazione urbana, restauro, waterfront, interior architecture, residenziale, spazio pubblico, paesaggio, trasformazione dell’esistente e nuove forme dell’abitare.

The apartment faces the sea. The design was built around that single fact.

Trip•ti•ca by CIRCOLO-A takes its name from the triptych of communicating sea-facing rooms at the apartment's most generous end, three spaces conceived not as separate rooms but as frames of a single domestic landscape. The walls between them came down. A contemporary enfilade now opens toward the terrace, which becomes the fourth element of the composition, the vanishing point toward which all interior perspective lines converge. Light moves through all three rooms in a visual continuum and the marine horizon becomes part of the interior.

The floor is herringbone parquet throughout, warm and directional, unifying the sequence into a single tactile plane. The ceiling takes colour, not as decoration but as an architectural tool, marking the rhythm of the triptych, defining volumes, and drawing the eye through each transition without closing any of them off. The private sleeping areas sit on the uphill side, acoustically protected and deliberately introverted.

An exercise in balance between the classical and the contemporary, between openness toward the sea and silence against the hill.

This renovation project, designed by the Genoa-based collective @circolo_a and named Trip•ti•ca, stems from a deliberate desire to reinterpret the floor plan: to transform the original spatial fragmentation into a fluid sequence capable of capturing and diffusing natural light.

🏆Casalibera
👤Author: CIRCOLO-A
📍Location: Genova, Italy

In a small town in Liguria, in Recco, stands a 55 sqm flat with a curious name: Casalibera. The name is a play on words between the patrons’ surname, and the almost total absence of walls inside the flat. Casalibera is a project based on subtraction. The clients, a young and dynamic couple, wanted to free up space, creating a large and bright environment in which natural light could flow freely. Before the intervention, the house was characterised by a traditional layout, with a living area separated from the sleeping area. The intervention completely overturned this layout, creating a single, fluid space in which the kitchen, living room and dining area merge together. The purity of the spaces is reflected in the materials and colours. The floor is completely in resin and rises above the walls, creating a bathtub effect in a pastel powder colour, which highlights the white walls, creating an elegant and refined ambience. The bedroom is separated from the entrance by a filter, physical but not spatial. The filter consists of a glass wall with a plinth that acts as a bookcase on both spaces, allowing light to filter through and containing furniture in the same way. Casalibera is the realisation of a dream. The clients wanted a home that was free of constraints and reflected their personality and lifestyle.
