Save the date: @circulartextiledays 2027 is heading to Mönchengladbach!

After a great edition in Tilburg, we’re taking Circular Textile Days across the border to Germany. Germany is a leading force in textile innovation, which makes Mönchengladbach the perfect place for our next chapter.

A new market, a wider reach and a new network: moving to Germany lets us connect the circular textile community beyond the Netherlands, with new partners, brands and innovators.

📍 Monforts Quartier, Mönchengladbach
📅 6 and 7 October 2027

We’re working together with Wirtschaftsförderung Mönchengladbach GmbH to make it another edition full of insights, innovations and new connections.

Want to be part of it as an exhibitor, partner or speaker? Send an e-mail to info@circulartextiledays.com

The most sustainable pair of jeans? The one you keep wearing.

Earlier last week, House of Denim & Denim City co-founder Mariette and strategic design Master student Thamar represented us at the Circular Textile Days in Tilburg.

Mariette took the stage for the NewTexEco Care&Repair Talk to share the story behind our Care&Repair Jeans project, a collaborative initiative between House of Denim, Denim City, and NewTexEco.

Here is how it works: 25 participants made their own jeans using 100% Post-Consumer Recycled denim during our 3-day Make Your Own Jeans course.
For two years, they will be documenting every wear, wash, care, and repair decision.
The goal? To prove how everyday choices shape both the character and lifespan of a garment.

At the event, two of these pairs were put on display side by side:
🔹 Same starting point
🔹 Completely different stories
🔹 One washed, one unwashed, creating a contrast in color and character that was impossible to miss!

(And for those paying close attention... a third pair was actively walking around the event, worn proudly by its maker!)

Want to follow the evolution of these jeans in person? Come visit us at Denim City! We’ll have even more worn-in examples on view during Denim Days (October 16–17).

♻️ What if the things we throw away didn’t have to become waste?

Today is World Circular Textiles Day. A moment to think differently about the materials and products we use every day, including the clothes we wear.

The Netherlands aims to become fully circular by 2050. That means using fewer new raw materials, keeping products and materials in use for longer, and finding new uses for what we already have.

Textiles show both the challenge and the opportunity. 👕♻️

Last week, @circulartextiledays brought people from across the industry together in Tilburg to explore how we can make textiles more circular, from better design and reuse to sorting, recycling, and new technology.

And circularity doesn’t stop at national borders. 🌍

A new study by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency @rvo.nl and the Dutch Consulate General in Istanbul @nlinturkey explores the circular textile industry in Türkiye and opportunities for Dutch-Turkish cooperation. It looks at how expertise and experience from both countries can complement each other in areas such as textile collection and sorting, chemical recycling, and digital traceability.

Because a circular economy isn’t just about what we do with waste. It’s about rethinking what we consider waste in the first place.

What if every damaged return could make your future collections better?

On Wednesday I had the honor of presenting our project from the Care&Repair at Circular Textile Days in Tilburg.

This year at a new venue, but the same great fair: excellent panels and keynotes, inspiring exhibitors, and lots of like-minded people to exchange with.

As part of the Care&Repair team coordinated by Nora Veerman within MENDED, I presented our project:

A Design to Repair tool.
Here is what it does:

- Helps fashion brands track damaged returns in store and sort them by garment type, kind of damage, and age.
- Connects design & development with the POS, so brands understand how their garments perform in real life and what fails first.
- Gives developers practical tips for design for durability and design for better repair to directly implement.

The result: collections that improve season after season, and fewer returns.

WANTED: your feedback!
Were looking for design & development teams from clothing brands to test our digital tool and tell us what it needs to be easy to use and truly valuable.

Want to help shape it and make a direct impact on waste reduction in our industry?

Comment below, and we will get back to you to schedule a quick online session.

Thank you Leontine Wagenaar and Nora Veerman for the pictures!

Circular Textile Days @circulartextiledays one of the main fairs on #circularfashion
We connected many companies for the STAGE project in Bangladesh, from the research group Sustainable Business Models of The Hague University of Applied Sciences @dehaagsehogeschool and funded by RVO @rvo.nl
Also, we learned a lot from everyone! Many insights from the talks and by chatting with everyone!

Every textile’s second life has a story before it reaches recycling.

A story of being found, recovered, sorted, understood and moved towards what comes next. But behind that journey are people who have spent years learning to see what others might overlook.

People who know the value in what has been discarded.
Who know where it can go, what it can become, and how to keep it moving.

As we mark Circular Textile Month through October, we’re beginning with their stories.

And behind these stories are people and partners helping make space for a more circular textile system - Alwaleed Philanthropies, IKEA, H&M Foundation and Saamuhika Shakti.

This month, we’re making space for more of these stories and this wouldn’t be possible without our ecosystem partners-

I will be presenting my latest jacquard woven textiles and my ‘LOOM TO FORM’ production system at the upcoming @circulartextiledays in Tilburg, the Netherlands. An innovative way of producing zero-waste textiles by engineering structure, texture and graphics directly into the woven fabric that shape the garment’s appearance and construction. Come and meet me there!

The doors of the Koepelhal are open for visitors at:
30 September: 14:00 – 21.00
1 October: 9.30 – 16.30

Who will we see in Tilburg? 👀

On 30 September, @jasmienwynants will be at @circulartextiledays and, naturally, she ended up in the café. ;)

The CTD Café: The Whole Truth closes day one with the conversations we probably need more of in circularity: what didn’t work, which assumptions deserve a reality check, what we learned along the way and, most importantly, what we do next.

After some honest stories and myth-busting with Michael Pfeifer, Thijs Verhaar and Jody van der Vegte, Jasmien joins Jack Stephenson Buschman for:

The Next Reality – From Honest Conversations to Real Action

A chance to connect the dots from the day and move from talking about change to actually making it happen.

📍 Koepelhal, Tilburg
📅 30 September
☕ CTD Café from 17:30

Who else will be there? Come say hi. Preferably at the café. 🍸
