I never understood why everyone wore shorts on pole… until now🤣

It took me over a year postpartum to feel comfortable on the equipment again, and honestly, I never imagined I’d come back and try something completely new. ❤️

Here’s to stepping outside my comfort zone, trusting my body, and remembering that progress doesn’t always look the way you expect it to. ✨

Huge thank you to my training buddy @circusmonsterleda for continuously pushing me past my boundaries and encouraging me to try things I never thought I would! ❤️🎪

Beyond the Ideal Body: A Moderated Conversation on Fatness, Access, and Aesthetics in Circus

Friday, June 19, 2026 | 3:00-4:00 pm
Campus Saint-Jean Amphithéâtre

This moderated conversation brings together artists, researchers, and movement practitioners to explore how fat bodies are represented, excluded, and reimagined within circus and movement-based performance practices. Through perspectives grounded in artistic practice, accessibility, and embodied experience, the discussion will touch on body norms in circus training and aesthetics, fat activism, and how performance spaces might broaden understandings of who belongs on stage.

Free to Attend.

Finally sharing the trailer for Fish at the Bottom of the Sea — a circus–theatre solo about loss and grief, performed at cSPACE in Calgary, November 2024.

It was also my first time performing in Calgary since returning in 2020. Bringing this work home made its reception feel especially meaningful.

Endless gratitude to @cspace.mardaloop and to the collaborators who helped shape and hold this piece. 🌊

✨ That's a wrap on Free Falling! ✨

As our playwright @nicole.schafenacker so eloquently wrote in our program "This play is about feeling one’s way through that dark corridor and through the unknown of how we reorganize into a self beyond the one we were before".

Now that we are on the other side of this performance my heart is full of gratitude for its transformational power and I want to extend my deepest thanks to everyone who made this incredible journey possible:

💛 Holly and Peter from Femmes du Feu for their stunning production In the Fire
💛 @cSPACE King Edward for providing the perfect venue to bring our stories to life
💛 Our amazing Kickstarter patrons and the generous audiences who showed up with open hearts

And, of course, my brilliant team of collaborators:
🎭 Nicole Schafenacker – Playwright, Dramaturg
🎬 Liz Hobbs – Director
🎭 Anne-Marie Hivert – Stage Manager
🎶 Ashley Weckesser – Sound Designer
💡 Alexandra Prichard – Lighting Designer
🎧 Camille Craig – Sound Operator
👗 Hannah Fisher – Costume Consultant
📣 Aldona Barutowicz (Aldona B Creative) – Publicist
